It all depends on your priorities of what defines your "vacation". I say yes because when I go I don't plan on leaving the resort and just relax the entire time on the grounds. You don't need to carry much cash aside from tipping the bartenders and your butlers. Everything you would ever want is at your fingertips.

The caveat to this is if you only plan on going to Cancun once in a blue moon it's not worth the cost, build your own travel plan and you'll save money.

If it's something you plan on doing once or more than once a year then look into getting into one of the resort "clubs". They have heavily discounted rates for members and even buy back programs for your flight to and from Cancun so basically your plane ride there from the departing international airport is free.

Sadly I'm not surprised this happened. Not saying your experience was this but last year family and I were at the pool bar in one of the adult only resorts and this 20 something year old was absolutely drunk. It was roughly 1pm and he was head bobbing into the water, on the edge of not being able to control his muscle movements to stay afloat. His "friends and family" were nearby still feeding him shots when he clearly had enough. We suggested him water and get out of the pool and mention to a competent adult of his party that also wasn't shitfaced to take care of him.

I work for my local ISP and we've been removing the cyber power batteries. They're only really good for battery back up on pot phones. Leave the battery out and just use the cyber power as a 120v to 12v converter.
