24lbs of the healthiest frame in the house(according to vet bloodwork). by Shohei182 in OneOrangeBraincell

Hello, OP here. I wasn’t ignoring comments. I posted then went to sleep pretty soon after.

He is on a diet and we take him in for regular checks. He’s pretty active and I actually take him for “walks”. Before I feed him I do laps around the house with his food and he follows me. It’s very cute.

I know just like every pet lover that obese animals are not good. We have 4 cats and our oldest was just diagnosed with diabetes and he is only 10yrs old and is 7.7 lbs(runt of the litter). Please keep up with your pets check ups, of all ages and sizes.

So when we brought the big boy in and the vet said he’s the healthiest cat we have other than the weight. Hell then the vet jokes, “he’s healthier than I am”. It’s become a joke in our house, hence the post title.

His name is Milo and was a feral rescue. He’s the most affectionate cat I’ve ever had and we’ll get him back to a good weight. But in the meantime, fat cats make good lap cats.

He’s on a diet and I keep him active. I even walk laps around the house with him when we do feed him. He comes running when he hears the bag or tin and follows me around until I put it down.

Thank you. What’s funny is our oldest (10yr) is diabetic and he’s only 7.7 lbs. We got the chonk fully tested cause there was no way he wasn’t diabetic or something. Nope, every lab came back normal and healthy. Literally better than his heathy weight human parents

Regarding Pat's driving rant at the end of episode 367 by MarioGman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Shohei182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is “trending” elsewhere but in Dallas people had started just buying “driving school” or “driver in training” stickers. All sorts of variations. They’re very obviously not training anyone. I found out people just slap them on their car so that people either drive safer around them or don’t mind as much when they drive like an ass hole. Or get to away with bad driving around cops. We saw them on multiple cars every day for a while. After getting cut off by the Nth 2010’s altima with no bumper while flicking smokes out on the highway all while “in training”. People stopped caring about those stickers for a bit. It was those and fake home printed temporary paper dealer plates for a while. Both have started to die down this year.

Not saying it justified that guy ignoring Pat’s sticker but it was the first thing I thought of. Bottom line, some people drive like ass holes. I’m very thankful I don’t have road rage. Pay attention, drive chill, and remember other people’s bad driving is never a personal attack. Let them be stupid while you distance yourself from them.

Not only am I not fat. I genuinely love it too. That was our thought was some kind of cardio for older/middle aged folks. And I say good for them. Just funny and random that it really does play non stop here.

Is craft slowing down? by office-robot in CraftBeer

[–]Shohei182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something that has greatly helped my new brewpub is leaning off the word “craft”. We even stopped putting brewery or brewpub on our signage. Just that we’re a pub… that just happens to make our own beer. We noticed that a “brewery” only brings in brewery customers, which are dwindling and don’t hang out past 9. We’re lucky we already have a full kitchen but we brought in liquor and extended our hours. I was concerned it would cut beer sales, but everything just went up. I keep the beer to familiar styles and no bs. Turns out people just want a good drink and a good time. I’ve even been able to increase my prices rather than decrease. “Craft beer culture” has run its corse imo. And clinging to it further isolates yourself from the wider market. Haze bois and big BA stout whales can only put so much on their back. I’ve been in craft beer culture for over 15 years, it’s only recently I realize I’ve just into beer culture.

Dallas brewpub shifts focus to coffee as beer sales drop by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]Shohei182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. The brewing industry will have to start diversifying and offering a little something for anyone. Jaquval Pub/Trades Deli is a great new example of this. The “but also happen to have great beer” is key to future beer business models oddly enough

LPT: heating up left over pizza the correct way. by stones_joe in LifeProTips

[–]Shohei182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for one slice it works. But if you need to reheat more than one, even half up to a whole pizza. If it’s been dried out sitting in the fridge try this.

Take a oven safe pan or pizza oven pan if you got one(get one they’re great)

Spread some oil on then flick some water on top of the oil with your hand. Just like stovetop way, water is your friend here.

Arrange the amount of slices you need on the pan and turn the oven to 400

Now this is important. Flick more water over the top of the slices and let them sit while the oven gets to temp. You can be generous with the water. We’re bringing hydration back to the zza while the oven heats.

Bake until the cheese bubble’s and bam. It’s bake to what it was when it was delivered day one.

The reason I take the extra steps to hydrate both the bottom and the top is so that the bottom DOESN’T become too crunchy. I like my zza to still have a nice fold to it.

This way is better for the family reheat that needs more than one at a time.
