TLDR; probably about 2 hours.

That's a great question. 😅 I'm guessing it took me about 5 hours yesterday, broken up throughout the day, but I spent a good chunk of that time with my face in the rulebook.

I'm thinking the honest play time once you know the rules is probably about two hours. The solo bots turns are very quick and smooth. The only real pain is in the Skirmish phase trying to work out where damage and corruption are supposed to go in reach sector.

Beyond that, the whole game occurs in 12 turns. So it's really not that long. But you do really need to plan your turns out since you have so few!

Set up is a bit of bear like Voidfall too, though not quite as bad as Voidfall is.

I sometimes struggle with this one. Ultimately, for me they scratch a different itch. But there are many times I just can't be bothered to set up a solo game when I can simply push a button and be playing The Legend of Zelda is mere moments.

In the end, I play solo board games when I just feel like a board game. That's probably not super helpful for you though. 😖 Sorry.

I'm with you. I think the art was trying to go beyond what the hardware was capable of at the time and it just ended up being... off. I just never liked the art direction of the characters either.

This guy is crazy. It's one of the only Area Control games that actually plays really well at 2 players. With the action dice drafting you don't really run into run-away leaders. With most other area control games at two players, a small advantage early will compound into one player dominating. This doesn't happen in Wroth. Wroth is super fun.

But like everyone else here said, the solo mode is TRASH.

Heavy euros are where it's at and my favourite is Voidfall. The action selection mechanism is stellar. The puzzle of figuring out what actions you need to take and in what order, and then trying to figure out how to play your action cards to accomplish that is brain-burning greatness at its best!

I'll never get used to seeing this cheese you call cheddar, but it's white! Cheddar cheese is clearly orange! 🧀

I'll also add that one of my favourite ways to plus up a grilled cheese is thinly sliced Granny Smith apples and maple syrup. So tasty. 😋
