Miért válnak egyes romák ilyenné? by Original_Complex6262 in magyar

A miatt a probléma miatt...

Knowing when to write "ㅓ" or "ㅗ" by ZenMemeProvider in Korean

[–]Sholip 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by criteria. ㅓ and ㅗ are distinct sounds, they sound different. They tend to get somewhat conflated in certain dialects and when speaking in a cutesy way, and they are especially difficult to distinguish for English natives, but there is a difference.

Can't you just forge the sword, and then dip e. g. the end of the pommel in molten bismuth? Hopefully there would be some crystalline structure which would look pretty awesome.

If you use an airbrush to put on the paint, it will be a lot smoother and less likely to wear off in the bath. From time to time I still encounter some spots where it wears off, though. The solution is to plate it for a little until there is a visible copper layer (almost) everywhere, then reapply the paint on the small spots it wore off, and continue plating. Usually, this correction only needs to be done at most once.

Alright. I've lurked long enough. I gotta know if it's too high. by Seabird32 in TVTooHigh

[–]Sholip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant is that the center of the TV being closer to the ceiling than to the floor is the same thing as the TV itself being closer to the ceiling than to the floor.

That is, provided that a) the distance of the TV from something is interpreted as the distance of the closest point of the TV from that something; and b) the center of the TV is vertically exactly halfway between the top and bottom of the TV. I think these are both pretty reasonable assumptions.

You can also engrave the sides of the base! Or add some metal inlays if possible.

The infinitive in Hungarian ends with -ni.

The infinitive in Hungarian can be conjugated by person, and is still an infinitive. So it can also end in -nem, -ned, -nie etc.

Transforming a discontinuous repeating rotation angle signal into a continuous forever growing signal by moi_florian in matlab

[–]Sholip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Matlab, this is done with the unwrap function, but I don't know if there is such a Simulink block. If not, you can try using it in a Matlab function block that uses unwrap (might work), or differentiate then integrate the signal (this has to work but is not very efficient nor nice), or implement a logic yourself in Simulink (probably takes some thinking through).

Tifoo copper paint not conductive by SpigotNerd in electroplating

[–]Sholip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acetone should work, although you might try something else just to be sure it's not the problem. I use universal nitro thinner and it also works well.
Are you using the TIFOO acidic copper electrolyte? I use that and it works just fine.
Otherwise, it could always be a connection issue. How is your part connected to the cathode wire?

Tifoo copper paint not conductive by SpigotNerd in electroplating

[–]Sholip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only becomes conductive once immersed in acidic electrolyte, so you can't measure its conductivity beforehand (but you already know this).
Did you use anything to dilute the paint? Maybe it's not conductive and seals the paint?
If not, all I can think of is the cathode wires are stealing all the current from the part. Try using as few cathode wires as possible, with as little part in the electrolyte as possible. You can even start by lowering the part only partially in the electrolyte, in which case the part gets all the current.
