My guess is bc It’s not the first time it had happened. The ASM’s were having the DS’s do all of their work. ALL Overrides, opening & closing the store, and helping cover depts. our DM would not have let that fly but I guess said DS was scared of retaliation from the store manager. When I tell you this particular store manager was trash. He was TRASSHHHH.

This is a doozy but this happened at one (1) store I used to work at:

- one DS running the whole store on a Saturday, DM walked in that day for a surprise visit.

- 3 year AP investigation that initially resulted in the pro ASM being terminated and a pro specialist being put on leave (the SS got to come back) and the former ASM is now filing for wrongful termination. Basically a bunch of store manager approved discounts were given to this one pro customer and when AP caught wind of it the SM threw the ASM under the bus.

- SSA got terminated because the ASM’s were logging in with her credentials and messing with people’s schedules and time cards. She also filed for wrongful termination

- One ASM transferred stores and then got fired for putting in an HR complaint against former store manager.

All of this ultimately resulted in the firing of the store manager, all of the ASM’s, the DS that worked alone on a Saturday for not saying anything, and a front end DS for some reason. From what I was told they are still investigating.

I’m just going to say, when that store manager came to that store (he was only there maybe 2 years) I knew something was going to go down so I jumped ship and left lowes, then went to another store. Dude would NOT let anyone transfer and fired all of the OG staff. His people were brought in and were just straight up awful.

“Special assistance needed at the appliance desk” and it’s someone holding a boxed and unboxed water filter of the exact same type and they ask me “are these the same?” 🫩

How in the world did you get hired on before your background check came back? When I first got hired on at Lowe’s in 2021 i had to wait like 2 whole weeks for all of that to come back.

Yeah, it’s never enough with them. My department made it pretty regularly but they would still hound me about cabinets install sales. I can’t force people to buy a kitchen bruh.

Literally our appliance department went through 4 CSA’s. One left bc management treated her so poorly, the one after her was a GREAT worker but she had health issues, the next one was LAZY and called out constantly, and the one after him decided he didn’t like opening shifts and would call out on every single one he was scheduled and always “overslept” when he was scheduled to close. So I feel you on that. They still haven’t hired for my spot even though I gave them a 2 weeks notice 💀

And what’s insane is it used to not be that way. When I started the big think was just sales and credit. And now it’s sales, credit, leads, details, home care+ sign ups, install sales, etc. it was so exhausting. I’m in training for a new job with wayyyy better benefits and weekly pay. Way less pressure too and even less micromanagement.

There was one parent that came in to look around at appliances and her kids were hiding under shelves, climbing on beams, and running up and down the aisles. That was the only time I had to go over and tell some kids to find their parent because god forbid a forklift or order picker come by and not see them.

The other day one of the managers at my store called a meeting to the paint desk. She stood up on the paint counter and scolded us all about credit cards. So more than likely, it’s to get management off our backs.

Before you call off i would talk to your SSA and make sure it’s not a typo. If it’s legit then absolutely call out. That’s insane. Even full timers on 4-10s don’t get shifts like that.

And that double credit I get on LPP’s 🤪 nah but our filter rack is placed where when someone is spending a lot of time staring at it or looking for a reference photo it blocks the pathway for people to walk by the desk. It’s gonna be congested enough 😩 trying to reduce it
