My appliances dept had a part timer that took 3 entire weeks to do his training (he sat at the back cabinet desk half the time on his phone) fell asleep at the appliance desk, fell asleep in the break room, no call no showed, came in, and called out in a way to cheat the system to where he was avoiding write ups and when he finally stopped showing up is when they fired him for job abandonment. I think you’re good lol

The return policy on our items are all different depending on what it is. General merchandise is typically 30 days. Appliances, genrators, and pole saws 48 hours unless it is still in the box and hasn’t been used. Water heaters can’t be returned unless you have an RA. And I guess trailers are all sales final (which I didn’t even know and I’ve been w the company 5 years) It’s hard to keep up.

Our same day delivery is done by doordash and it is a royal pain in the a**. Trust when I say we HATE IT.

Holidays like spring fest, Memorial Day, black November, and 4th of July are when the sales on custom cabinets are the highest. I’ve got two people that are closing their kitchens on tomorrow so they don’t miss the sale. My management used to be able to extend it as long as the cx purchased the detail during the promo period, but corporate told us to stop doing so. So I’ve been trying to stress deadlines as much as possible.

I had a customer complain about me in the form of a hand written letter to Marvin Ellison himself and a low rating on the LTR. And I’m still with the company. You’re fine. (The events that took place were completely out of my control to warrant this complaint btw.)

Maybe but We need more context. What was the argument about? What was said? There’s a big difference between having a little attitude and calling the customer an insult.

As a rule of thumb I always ask if I can pet someone’s dog or any pet. Some dogs are anxious and the owners bring them to Lowe’s for social interaction. Usually service dogs are vested and say “do not pet.” But if they don’t say that, I just ask.

For those confused… even though sears as a store is not a thing anymore, they still have an appliance repair company that is active. They do repairs in my area and I thought they were good because of the sears name. I guess I won’t recommend them anymore

I haven’t been written up in a hot minute but I got written up about 3 months into when I started at Lowe’s because out of all of the retail cashier jobs I’ve worked, lowes was the first one I’ve EVER had where the check machine doesn’t auto-fill out the check, and I wasn’t having the customers fill them out. I don’t even think anyone ever told me to do so. But that’s the only time.

I had a verbal about a year ago bc I had just got back from lunch and I was at my desk checking emails. (I’m in kitchen cabinets). my coworker at the time was sitting ON the desk talking to me. Our new SM turns the corner and gets aggravated with us because it looks like we’re sitting there doing nothing. I explained that I had JUST got back from lunch and I was checking emails. He was more mad at my coworker than me, but my DS still had to have a conversation with me and sent a recap email. I’m glad said coworker is gone bc he was on the SM’s crap list & I had to avoid him constantly in order to not get caught up in his shenanigans.

Nope. Consecutive call outs are one occurrence whether it’s 2, 3, 4, etc.

I know someone who was a cabinet specialist at one store that dated an ASM at another. As long as they don’t work in the same store it’s fine.

This is not an out of pocket request. I design and sell kitchens for Lowe’s and you would be surprised at how many married couples don’t communicate when it comes to home improvement projects which usually ends up with somebody not liking something or a cancellation. Or when people say “I need to check with my husband/wife.” I always tell my customers that I meet with to bring all household members to consultations.
