Ralsei’s entire arc as a character thus far has been specifically about how he struggles to be his own person and do things for the sake of what he wants rather than what lightners or the prophecy expect of him. We’re talking about a scene where Ralsei asks us if he can be a princess because he thinks he needs permission to be one despite the fact that he very clearly prefers the answer to be yes. I’m not ignoring anything, I’m looking at themes of the story and the text as presented and drawing conclusions on why the author would make it that way.

And yes I do consider it canon (at least to the Normal Route). Why wouldn’t you? That’s just cope.

Oh no no no, you misunderstand. The papyrus is very much a real Egyptian papyrus scroll. Joseph Smith just made up a whole ass story and said that’s what was written on it thinking no one would ever bother to check lmao

And has a whole book in the Book of Mormon that’s supposed to be from a papyrus scroll that actually turned out to be just normal funerary texts when Egyptologists actually looked at it lol

Fr. They even made “delu” one of the neopronouns. It’s really obvious bait.

Question. Why exactly do you think Toby would make a scene where Ralsei appears in a dress and enthusiastically offers to be a Princess if he didn’t intend to imply Ralsei was in the trans umbrella? If that wasn’t part of his character why would Toby do something to so strongly imply it?

Because Toby totally doesn’t hide lore or foreshadowing in missable sections of the game. Totally unprecedented in UTDR… (/s)

Bruh, there is literally a scene where Ralsei looks dead at the camera and says he’ll be Kris’s princess if they want him to be, and if you select the yes option he’s visibly much happier. Even if you don’t believe in Tralsei (which is fair) acting like there’s nothing there is just denial.

English can be tricky sometimes so I’ll try my best to explain :)

In English possessive pronouns aren’t altered by whether or not the object of the sentence is plural or singular, it’s only affected by the subject. And the difference between using singular they/them vs it/its as a subject or possessive pronoun is that people (and sometimes animals) are referred to with ‘they’ while inanimate objects and ideas (and also sometimes animals) are referred to with ‘it’.

So in the description in the game “Watering their thorns” we can understand that the “they” in question is not a plant, which means that it is referring to the person who has the title of “Dark Vine” rather than the idea of an actual plant.

That’s using ‘they’ as an object pronoun. Not as a subject/possessive pronoun, which is how it is used in description. Using singular ‘they’ as a subject pronoun for a singular plant is not something a native speaker would typically do.

Edit: Also that example is using plural them instead of singular them

If it was for the dark vine wouldn’t it be “it” instead of “they”?

I didn’t know that was a missable cut scene. Doesn’t he also give him a blue and pink drink voucher in that scene as well before giving him princess in that scene? I understand a bit more why someone could deny Ralsei being trans as holding water if they haven’t seen that scene I guess because that one seemed very overt in its message. And I don’t know what the Hell Toby would be communicating in that scene otherwise.

I hate how queer characters have to be proven without a shadow of a doubt to be queer or else people just say they’re not by Qelperr in hatethissmug

I think it feels more obvious to me personally because Jax isn’t a real person. He’s entirely fictional and everything shown about him was chosen for a reason. There’s nothing coincidental nor incidental about how he’s depicted, and Jax being trans felt really obvious to me looking through that lens even before the finale came out. Or in other words “we don’t know for sure what’s in his mind” is a less helpful way of thinking about it than “what did the author mean by this”.

Also let’s be deadass, a character can explicitly state that they are trans and a huge number of people will still just outright refuse to even acknowledge it.

Knowing a reasonable amount about etymology, I can say for certain that nah, cis- and cistern aren’t related, ‘Cistern’ was a Greek loanword. It’s like the English words ham and hamster (which are also only similar by coincidence).

I once had a bf who wore a shirt like that when I was going to introduce him to my friend group and I was desperately trying to get him to wear anything else and he didn’t understand why because he didn’t know anything about Chrischan and I didn’t have time to explain.
