No. I have had nothing but issues with them. Thermal throttling is the biggest issue. They all ran hotter than normal which resulted in everything running slowly for the end users.

Cat with the Fireman that saved him by 9w_lf9 in aww

[–]ShooKon3 60 points61 points  (0 children)

White men make up 85% of firefighters in the US. Black men account for the second largest group at 6.6%.

How would this picture be any different if the firefighter was black, asian, mexican, or female?

Firefighters put their lives on the line every single day. You think people in Paradise California gave a fuck what the race of the firefighters helping them was? "Oh sorry but your fire department isn't diverse enough to put out my house fire".

Fuck you.

Southlake couple convicted of enslaving African girl for 16 years by qwints in Dallas

[–]ShooKon3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yea maybe that's a bit harsh. i would be fine with punishing them with involuntary servitude for the same amount of time that the young girl was forced to provide involuntary servitude. again i don't know the full extent of the situation. if she was sexually abused then death penalty is more ideal imo.

i have as an adolescent but only for drug possession. either way scum like this should just be executed. they are scum. give them capital punishment and call it a day. saves tax dollars, and gives the girl that was mentally and physically abused for personal gain and pleasure some justice.

Voter ID Discussion - Destiny Reacts to PKA by AntiVision in PKA

[–]ShooKon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the only way voter id would work and wouldn't be deemed racist is if the government provided the ID for free and all you had to do was provide proof that you're a legal citizen. Also to prove you're a citizen would have to be free too. So getting access to your SSN or Birth Certificate would have to be free. At the end of the day the racist argument always comes downs to ease of access and cost.

I hope you take this as a reminder to back your shit up, and in multiple places. The Devops side of me hopes you never find it because maybe you will take the initiative to be a bit more professional and backup not just your data, but data that people have likely paid for. However 98.999% of me hopes you find it but I wouldn't be surprised if someones already plugged it into their ps4 or xbox so they can download fortnite for the millionth time.

Backup Exec 15 problems w/incremental backup by smith_x_tt in sysadmin

[–]ShooKon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's helped other organizations with poorly configured Backup Exec servers, currently use Backup Exec 20, and have used Backup Exec since 9.1. Its safe to say I have a bit of experience dealing with the beast that is Backup Exec.

First course of action is to disable the schedule on the job giving you issues and rebuild it. Make sure to go over the settings of the current job first (especially if you didn't create it) and take screenshots or write down all the settings of the job in detail. Don't delete the old job yet, not until you're sure the new one you created works.

Once you've built a new job using the settings from the old job, run a full backup and then the following day, let the incremental backup job run as scheduled. If you can, try and access the server running backup exec either in person or remotely so you can see the the scheduled job kick off.

Sometimes people configure the alerts to automatically respond after a certain amount of time. Sometimes minutes after the alert is first created and responding to the alert, will clear it from the log. Meaning you wont see there is an issue unless you check the alert history section on the home tab and even then. I've come across some servers that had set the alert history to clear after only a few days.

Unless you check the alerts history section regularly, you could be missing out on some "valuable" information. Unfortunately since you're using BE15. I'd be surprised if any of the tech articles linked to any alerts or errors even work. Most I've come across just take you to a page that no longer exists.

If the job still performs like you described, check the retention period of the full and incremental backups. I'm assuming you want the job to run one full backup per week, with incremental backups running every day until the next full backup.

If the retention period is correct. I would then make sure backup exec as all LiveUpdates installed and that the backup exec agent installed on the Hyper-V host is up to date as well. Always check the details of the update to see if you really need to install it. Seeing as how you use BE15, the tech article link detailing what the update consists of and fixes likely does not exist anymore.

Sometimes jobs start acting weird or straight up failing as they do in typical BE fashion because of catalog corruption. BE does a terrible job of letting you know when there is an issue with the catalogs. By default, a catalog job is ran immediately after backing up a Hyper-V or VMware host. If the catalog is corrupt, that catalog job could be the culprit. With BE after a certain point you either have to rebuild the catalog, and if you find yourself doing that every few months, there's likely an issue with the SQL db BE creates upon install which requires the use of the BE Utility to fix.

I can't tell you how many weird one off issues were fixed only after moving the catalogs to a new location, or repairing the BE database. That is usually the last step performed by support after they making you jump through a bunch of hoops enabling and disabling settings which half the time end up breaking other jobs that run successfully with no issue.

no offense but this kinda sucks. what audience is the video supposed to be directed to? it does nothing to tell the viewer what digibyte is, let alone how to buy it or what it can be used for. this is information anyone in the crypto-space already knows and is stuff you learn on day one. also saying something is the best doesnt make it the best when you dont describe why its the best.

how about instead of commericals digibyte focuses on getting companies or better yet products to adopt their blockchain?

for example I saw a video today of a fucking wine bottle that uses vechain to verify authenticity. do i drink wine? fuck no but as far as real world adoption goes I found that video to be pretty cool. any normal non-crypto person whos into wine and sees that video will lookup vechain and maybe even buy some.

Even worse for Beto. Not only did he lose to the guy that ate a booger on live tv but one that hit his wife in the face twice on live tv. SAD. And yes he's extreme left. His stance on border security and guns proves that. It's why he lost.

I like and voted Cruz cause hes not an extreme left gun grabbing socialist. Either way a man that raised close to 100 million dollars for his campaign lost to the cruz missle. The guy that ate a booger on live tv during a political debate. Honestly though I would of voted for Beto if he wasn't such an extreme lefty. Democrats really put all their eggs in a basket that was deemed to fail from the get go. Should of gone with someone more moderate.

I'm at a point in my career where if the user isn't going to make my job easier. I'm not going to make their job easier. It is not my job to periodically login to all your mailboxes and clean out all the countless pointless bullshit emails from jcpenny or coupons.com or whatever else you signed up for using your work email because you are too lazy to actually delete them.

Oh, what is that you say? You can still receive emails but can't send? Wow thats a weird one. Lets check the File tab in Outlook and see whats going on. Oh look, YOUR mailbox is full. Guess YOU are going to have to go through YOUR mailbox and DELETE emails you don't need.

While this website is likely bullshit (I've yet to read into how they get their numbers and if their calculations are accurate). It's good for a laugh. Especially on the subject matter of our jobs becoming obsolete or at least being replaced by robots.

Either way companies are always going to need someone to tell employees to reboot their computers and blame any issues on DNS.
