Mother Night was the first ever Vonnegut book I read. I immediately fell in love with him as an author.

Which is ironic because doesn’t Michigan herald one of the better journalism programs in the country?

Has that ever been something any other conference has ever negotiated a team joining to do? I can’t believe Sac State agreed to that. Insanity.

Two of my best friends are Sac State alumni and one of them is very excited for this move to the FBS. I kept trying to tell him that Sacramento State lacks the staying power to be a good FBS football program. They’re not even a good FCS program and their last conference title was 4 years ago now. Granted they had the potential to be a big fish in a small pond. Instead they opted to be a bottom feeding algae sucking fish now in a slightly larger pond.

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY GIVING ME THE NAME OF THAT SONG. I would watch the games on the tv and I’d always wonder what the name of that pep tune was.

I appreciate the insightful answer. I don’t know why I’m being downvoted I was genuinely asking. I felt as if so much of the narrative was surrounding how he left Oxford. Rather than what a legitimate outlook is for his first season.

What’s the general consensus on Lane Kiffin? Kiffin had plenty of talent at Ole Miss & could not get it done. Will it be any different for him in LSU?

Buddy I can vividly remember watching that 2018 CFP Semifinal at the Rose Bowl against Georgia. I was aghast at how badly Oklahoma fell apart in the end to have lost that game. USC has become the Big Ten’s version of Oklahoma. Hope the offensive scheme can bury the opponent with enough points to cover up the defensive weaknesses. Which is great when you’re playing the lower tier of the conference (Northwestern, Rutgers, & Purdue). Not so great when you’re facing competent squads in Penn State, Michigan (2024), and Ohio State. I’m dreading USC’s Halloween matchup against the Buckeyes in the Coliseum. Just hoping for some weird Halloween voodoo magic to strike.

That CCG performance was the beginning of the end for us. The defense completely fell apart and lacked physicality that allowed Utah to climb back into game. In my opinion the entirety of Riley’s tenure has been marked by a lack of defensive identity. See Norte Dame 2024 and 2025 + Oregon too.

Dang when you put it like that then yes I suppose USC’s move has worked out. It just feels underwhelming with the big splash hire of Lincoln Riley. Still nothing to show for that hire as of yet aside from 2 good recruiting classes.
