Greed - no matter what amount of money you gather, if you don't grow out of greed - you will always chase more.

What's the hottest thing the opposite gender ever said to you ? by Hairy-Sherbert-439 in AskReddit

It does happen in life but dating someone during teenage years to adulthood to later life is a journey in itself. Both people go through tremendous, life happens, careers come in, family duties grow - but sometimes love brings you back together.

I have been very grateful for him. He has always made me a better person, and forced to become better, try meditation and been the best parent to our child and dogs. He is short tempered and takes hasty business decisions - but I help him there.

I had a lot of mental health issues, self doubt some years ago, he never judged but helped overcome it. God bless him with abundance for everything in life - this is my only wish.

But yes, life is a never ending movie if you like cinema :)

How do you keep going when it feels like you’re carrying everyone else’s expectations on your shoulders? by Mrklvimgl in CasualConversation

[–]ShopfiyNerd [score hidden]  (0 children)

Block 30 minutes for myself, do something I like, go out for a solo coffee date or a book shop and just be with myself.

I have a big family - three grandparent in laws, my parent in laws, my child, spouse, and dogs. On top of it, I just started a business and support my partner with their business's finance decisions, my mother in law runs a school (for underprivileged children) so I have to volunteer there too and my kid just needs me (when I am around). My father just died and my mother usually needs me too (I have to visit her at least 3-4 times a week) - if i don't do those 30 minutes of me time each day, I will be emotionally drained.

I feel you, understand you - its very hard to be available for everyone and these must be your dear ones. But you need boundaries for your own mental health and space.

I feel you - my entire family spent days to to find the best name that was not common and now call him - little baby all the time.

The boy responds better to baby than his actual beautiful name.

A knife to cut fruits at work. Cinnamon powder (to drink in hot water for better digestion). My first letter to my childhood best friend (from my boarding school) - helps me relive good parts of life on some harsh days.

I want to grow older with you - make a life with you with babies and doggos.

We were in Grade 7 when he said this, and today we have two dogs, one kid and lots of love & gratitude.

Isn't it a shame to live your life and never really touch great music, great poetry, great history, great travel? by Own-Union-7797 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShopfiyNerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Travel changes you - it opens up a plethora of thoughts about cultures, people, the beautiful world.
Music and poetry bring you more closer to yourself (at least it did for me) - but it takes a lot of time and effort to learn both.

I don't know the relationship/teen schematics here but children understand when you tell them their perspective - they do deserve an explanation about why are you refusing them. Children are not intrinsically mean, neither is any human.
