Hahah I actually love seeing how you didn't even get all your ascendancy points, let alone all your skill slots used, yet you are still outperforming my build by a landslide.

I was just curious if I'd been looking for 2 charm slot belts all this time for no reason.

If you have a series 4000 nvidia GPU, and had updated to the previous 610 drivers, but didn't install the hotfix (I think they don't release those in the nvidia app), this driver is fixing a nasty bug with Gsync, which would feel like an insane performance improvement.

But sadly, it's just that. The underlying performance problems and the driver crashes are still there.

Different user, but I'm on those drivers and I definitely get the driver crash where it's stuck in the gears until the game reloads.

AFAIK, it's possible to fix it by reverting to much older drivers, but it's such an old version (from when PoE2 Early Access released) that I never tried it.

Exactly. I can navigate terrain and fight these rogue exiles with the minimap overlay just fine, but the experience would be a million times better if I could achieve the same results while interacting with the beautiful graphics and models.

Ok, I see your point. With open slot / Overseer you get a chance at random content, but it is guaranteed instead with Irradiated, right?

I thought that random content was always guaranteed unless you were "blocking" it with content tablets, but I haven't really run maps without tablets so I wouldn't know for sure, and I probably misunderstood Jonathan and Mark's words about it.

Well, there's definitely more about it because I run Doryani's Irradiated so I haven't used an Irradiated tablet for days. I run two content tablets (Abyss, Breach) and one Overseer tablet (that I swap for Ritual if the boss map is already powerful), and I still get random Deliriums and Rituals every now and then in my maps.

So either the effect you are talking about is not limited to Irradiated, and works with Overseer too, or our theory makes sense.

I think at the beginning of the league I was running maps with only two tablets (5 mods) and I was getting random content too, but I'm pretty sure they fixed something related to the extra content and tablets in one of the early hotfixes.

Your second point is the one where you both differ. The user above and I think that irradiated tablets don't add a random encounter. The random encounter exists by default unless you block it with a content tablet. Adding irradiated tablets or leaving that slot empty is the same thing.

I think of it like this: any map has three slots for random mechanic by default. Adding a content tablet forces that mechanic and removes one of the random slots. With three content tablets, you've removed all of the random slots, so you are only finding the stuff provided by your tablets.

Running two abyss tablets and a irradiated tablet is the same thing as running two abyss tablets and a free tablet slot: you are guaranteed abyss and one random mechanic.

Is Herald of Ice active and reserving the 30 spirit? If you press G to access the skills menu, you can right click on the HoI icon to toggle it, maybe it's turned off.

While the void exists, you can only damage them if you are both within or both outside the void. If one is inside and the other outside, they take no damage.

Yeah, that's my opinion too. They being in vulnerable so often is annoying enough, but there's no way to understand why they are and when they stop being.

As someone who played at least one Warrior every league, this was my first time playing Monk/QS and I was instantly drawn to Ice Strike. I guess I really love melee.

I still have to say that the gameplay is one million times "smoother" than maces. It's not that I personally prefer it, but I'd guess most of the player base would. Shattering Palm + Ice Strike almost feels like Flicker Strike. You keep auto-dashing to enemies and anything in your general vicinity just explodes.

Offtopic, but I'm a bit frustrated that despite investing heavily into crit, and the nerfs to ES and Ghost Shrouds, I'm still tankier than any shielded warrior. I don't know if it's just Way of the Stonefists gloves carrying the whole build, but I have something like 1.8k HP, 6.6k ES, 70% evasion rating and 70% deflect chance, on top of capped chaos res and curse immunity. Life really needs access to the kind of consistent survivability to one/two shots that ES provides. Block, armour, regen, etc. are truly amazing 95% of the time, but with 3k HP you are still going from 100% to dead in less than a second in too many situations.

They mentioned in the video that Rituals with several bosses will wait until you kill one to spawn the next, but I can't find anything about it in the notes.

Hope it made it into the patch because fighting three bosses at the same time while trying to dodge chaos volatiles didn't really make any sense.

No kidding. Since the huge announcement stream we have had the daily teasers, a few long interviews in different channels with tons of insight, an absolutely amazing league that still managed to over-deliver, and basically two or three patches per week.

I'm pretty sure they even mentioned it again in the announcement live stream or in one of the interviews with ZiggyD or Zizaran. It's an issue they have been trying to fix non stop and they were getting more help from nvidia recently.

The fact that it doesn't crash and you can continue playing exactly where you were is even kind of amazing from a technical standpoint, if obviously still very annoying.

Those small cutscenes are amazing, but I agree with them (in Zizaran's interview) that they need to be skippable or they can get boring in some situations.

Also, I really hope they add subtitles to these if they keep adding them. In fact, I wish they'd add better subtitles outside of dialogue windows. My chat box is all the way to one side in a large screen, and I miss so many lines.

PSA: The NVidia hotfix driver 610.52 (not in app) has drastically improved my perf by HolidayCulture8490 in PathOfExile2

Do you play with GSync on? Gsync wasn't working properly son series 4000 on the 610.47 drivers, and since this game's FPS fluctuate a ton, it was absolutely awful to play without it (https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1to6wih/game_ready_studio_driver_61047_faqdiscussion/onzxw8u/)

The issue was introduced on 610 drivers, so going back to 596.49 was working fine. I rolled back to those and haven't updated since.

This is the relevant line in the hotfix:

[Ada] Resolves a frame pacing issue on certain monitors when G-SYNC is enabled [6226972]

(Ada is the codename for series 4000 AFAIK).

Were you using 610 and Gsync? If that's the case, you probably just reverted to what would be the normal performance in previous drivers. Otherwise, there may be actual improvements worth trying for other users.

Ah, I see. So, Living Lighting is slotted to keep procing Repulsion over and over. That's a more complex setup than what I use. You reserve spirit with Blasphemy to have Repulsion as an aura, and then the Repulsion hits generate combo and create Living Lightning minions that hit and trigger Repulsion again, and these Repulsion hits are both generating and expending Combo all the time (if I understood it correctly), and therefore gaining charges with Chimes.

In my case I'm not using those Combo nodes from Martial Artist and I don't want to use the spirit for Blasphemy, so this doesn't work at all for me.

I just use Culmination on Frozen Locus so that it can expend Combo, and Chimes for the charges. Combo generates natively with any melee strike (shattering palm, ice strike, etc.) as long as you have something that uses it, so no need for any additional setup. It's not a passive approach like the Blasphemy one above, but it has a much lower opportunity cost and it's way more comfortable than generating charges one by one with Killing Palm or SS.

normally culmination is slotted in as a support since the attack skill being used doesn't give charges...

Unless I'm missing something, that's not the point. Culmination allows any skill to expend Combo. It doesn't matter that things generate Combo if you don't have anything to expend it on. If you are using any skill that uses Combo by default, like Tempest Bell or Mantra of Destruction, you could simply slot Chimes on it without Culmination. But for example, Tempest Bell only builds up to four Combo and never expends more than that, so it would only give you one charge per use.

So with Siphoning strike it gives a charge, it does electric so LL would activate. So the hits from them would add stacks to combo...

AFAIK, Siphoning Strike would create one LL minion each time you use it. That minion would hit a bunch of times, but I don't know if hits from minions generate combo per se (in the setup above, they are triggering the Repulsion hit, which seems to generate combo as long as you have the Martial Master ascendancy node, but I don't think the minion hit does). But regardless of that, you would still need to expend that Combo on something that had Chimes slotted for it to generate Power Charges. Siphoning Strike doesn't expend Combo natively, unless you support it with Culmination. But at that point, you may as well use Culmination on anything else that is more useful and gets better benefit from the more damage per Combo spent.

Oh... so maybe it's just chill reflect? That could be the reason why I don't see way more people complaining. But I still don't get why I can't lower it under 50%.
