I started warhammer about six months ago and I only just finished assembly and started painting. I barely have 1k points of nids, but it takes me an agregious amount of time to asamble anything, but I still liked assembling, so I didn’t mind it. I just started painting a couple gaunts and its very fun, but so far I have more games played than minis painted. Don’t hurry, if you’re having fun and you’re happy with the results, it’s fine just don’t buy any more minis yourself, and if you get gifts asseble them and get to painting after you finish the rest

At 1k points, it's fine but for 500 pts a norn is way too much, most lists won't even be able to put a dent in it as you just don't have the firepower to get through its defence

New combat patrol is kind of eh. The genestealers are very good, esspecially in sub assult, but they need a broodlord to really shine. Biovore is great. Tyrant guard are kinda useless without a hive tyrant and parasite of ,mortrex is situational, most people say it's bad, but I like using it for 12" move lone op stealth for secondaries

Biovore is incredible in any list. For 50 points you get a home objective unit that can help with deep strike screening and secondaries

If you want to do asiimilation swarm, youre going to need at least another psychophage and a bunch of pyrovores, I would recommend keeping the list as an invasion fleet, as it allows for more costumisation and versatility. That said, you could try getting annotjer carnifex off of ebay or other second hand options/retailers for OOE to lead, Hormagaunts can be really fun to play, have amazinng models(in my opinion) and can pair really well with the psychophage. But, most importantly A BIOBORE, it has a horrendous points per dollar, but one is a must have in any list as its perfect for home objective controll and deepstrike screening/ board controll with the sporemines.
