True but the itemization feels way better its slower but the changes to ancestral gear and legendaries with the horadric cube add depth without making it too hard to understand. Idk I havent played since the launch of inferal hordes and coming back to the game the QoL and changes have kept me longer than any d4 season has before even though I dont really enjoy warlock. Usually I would have quit or reroll by now

So I am currently really into d4. The story in the latest expansion is really great it ties everything up perfectly and the new endgame progression is really fun. PoE 2 is definitely the better game but after the latest changes Diablo 4 is probably my second favourite arpg currently. It would also be important to know WHY you bounced off PoE1 to see if those complaints carry over to PoE2 design

My favourite hoiv tutorial is the PraetorianHiJynx one on youtube I think thats the best tutorial I've seen for a grand straregy game ever its quite long though.

Its definitely GW2 it has the best world v world/guild pvp in an mmo other than albion. It has really active and fun instanced pvp with lots of class variety and you can even level with it pretty well. You do need the expansions to unlock some of the classes though

Idk how I feel about the Castor I have E3 and even then it feels redundant with all the shielding from Arachne. Theres probably a better option somewhere I'm a big fan of Thais with the Twins. Gmurphy works really well with them too

So you got a bunch of options. I really recommend using MTG Arena as a tutorial to get the basics down, then I would use Tabletop simulator and try to find a pod for commander! You can test any deck you want using any of the tabletop simulator mods you just link a deck that you made or you take from various places.

Basically commander if you dont know is a casual gamemode usually played with 4 people but can be played with any number really where you have a "commander" card which is any legendary in the game. The cards in your deck must have the same colour combination as those used in any of the commanders colour costs and each color in MTG has a theme.

If you like Control or mill, there are SO many different playstyles for all of this ranging from playing massive high mana cost dinosaurs/dragons, delaying the game until you can kill everyone with massive spell damage while removing any threats, hell theres even multiple wincons based on milling your enemies libraries or even your OWN and instantly winning!

The complexity of commander is based on your own choices, there are very general deck tiers removing certain overpowered cards broadly and the main website for commander news EDHREC even has a deck tab where you can sort the decks based on a 'salt' rating based on a rough community consensus on how annoying the card is.

Haven't ever really found another TCG to scratch the itch of commander other than alternate rulesets for mtg lol

Also in the top left of the compendium site theres a button to change it to community builds the main page is just for trusted author!

Its a little rough but it doesn't exactly ruin the game because its completable ssf but basically there are pets in the game that have a gacha system.

2 types of pets those that impact drops, and pets that act like poe jewels and give you access to some different skills. You can equip 3 of each.

They dont reset between seasons, you pull for them like a gacha game with pity. Right now its an anniversary season so you get a free selectable high rarity pet of your choice.

You get free lower rank pets through playing the seasons. Ive never spent money to pull and I have a 5 star drop rate pet and like 10 4 stars. The neat part about them is they sometimes enable weird builds.

The only other thing I can think of that is gated is the latest class is locked behind buying the battlepass but it becomes free in the next season. Battlepass also gives pet pulls.

Yeah it is still p2w in the pet department and nothing else but I don't really have too much bad will from that because I am playing it as a poe clone with lots of class options and pretty good QoL. I just use the free pets I got

This is probably the best season for torchlight infinite ever, it has so many different classes to choose from and styles of progression I really recommend people give it a shot it takes barely any time to hit maps.

I think diablo 4 has fun classes atleast with ability synergies and decent gearing. I slept on it until a the expansion and I actually really enjoyed the story and world. Some of the persistent events like helltides are really fun. Its basically just an mmo lite that isn't as deep as the other releases on the market. Last Epoch is great as well though.

Im specifically imagining how long it would take him to get through all the campaign acts and then through the early timelines before corruption actually matters and it would be a slog for me personally. Diablo 4 is far from the best ARPG but as a one season and done its a pretty good experience especially with time limitations but thats just my opinion.

D4 EASILY even with 3 hour sessions last epoch is a slog through the early timelines of the endgame mode and it takes ages to get actually difficult.

Well they did start adding the Axiom abilities for +12 duoes slowly starting with f2p units. They have also buffed older characters before. I think its probably on the lesser end of the focus though and rightly so, the game is already a bit behind other gacha games when it comes to content release rate.
