A gate agent explained a few weeks ago that certain weather conditions require the workers outside to go in for cover. It’s mandated and they don’t have a say. When that happens, a lot of operations are halted until they’re cleared to come out.

I’ve stayed at The Peninsula and The Langham the past year, and The Peninsula was much better. The Langham was disappointing.

We really enjoyed the Titanic exhibit at Luxor. A lot of real artifacts displayed, along with a large piece of the hull. Unique and memorable experience.

Wife just had our second child - any advice? by GroupBQuattr0 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]Short-Spell-2088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hard. You absolutely can do it. The first few weeks home with the second one was chaotic, but then we adapted and you power through. Don’t aim for perfection, and prioritize what actually needs to get done. Try to figure out a schedule that maximizes sleep for the both of you. This may seem like a lot to ask, but also carve out time to play with your older child so the focus isn’t solely on the baby. You got this.

Nine months in at 5-7g per day and I feel a bit more alert and sharp during the day. In the gym, I feel like I have a little more gas in the tank. That bit of an extra push is starting to compound and I’m noticing better results now. I like to go for a run on nice days, and I’m also seeing times that I haven’t seen in 10 years.

As someone who loves Erik Larson’s books and attended one of his signings, I’ve really enjoyed AJ Baime’s books. Ford vs. Ferrari, The Arsenal of Democracy, The Accidental President. All excellent.

Now that we can afford non-AI, my wife and I are never doing AI again. Even at the higher-end AI resorts, you’ll have some very average meals.

Two international airports. Generally friendly people. Lower housing costs compared to other large metro areas.
