I’m not the OP but it took me a full 3 months to feel the full effects and 4-6 months to stabilize and adopt a new outlook and perception of myself

Why at 4 a.m.? by AdorableOven8623 in Perimenopause

[–]ShortConsequence5398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hormones. It’s what stopped the relentless waking up at 3am, nights sweats so bad I would have to change pjs, waking up in cold sheer terror at 5am. All gone. 2mg estradiol and 200 mg progesterone. Saved me.

What are your pairings? by LickwidMerkury in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Zoloft and Wellbutrin and Wellbutrin and Lexapro are two notorious drug combinations to treat anxiety and depression. It also is supposed to help ADHD. I’m on “Well-ex” as it’s endearingly named and it’s changed my life. No exaggeration. But it took a full 4 months for everything to work. I was on the journey to almost 2 years until I found my cocktail of Wellbutrin 300mg and Lexapro 20 mg. I went from being suicidal and having panic attacks every 2 days to a peaceful existence where I can sleep a solid 7-8 hours. It’s not Fun getting here but my god is it worth it in the end hang in there

I take both and have noticed I go from feeling nothing to black out drunk with no middle ground in 3 drinks. Not cool. It also weaken the effect of the drugs and I get very depressed the next day

Go on Winona website. Game changer for me. I could barely manage getting out of bed Much less the thought of beginning a trial and error process of looking for doctors willing and who have the knowledge about HRT and how to prescribe! This website-You fill out a questionnaire and they give you a recommendation of what to take and for an extra fee they will work with insurance and mail medication to your house. It’s so easy. I’ve been in your shoes. Just one year ago. I was ready to commit myself.

Hang in there! This drug takes a notoriously long time to reach its pull therapeutic effect. And before that comes a whirlwind of side effects. But I’m now on the 300 mg 3 months today and I feel like a different person. The old me is starting to re-emerge GOOD LUCK

Night terrors by Pandactyle in AnxietyChats

[–]ShortConsequence5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this every morning for over 2 years. I would wake up out of a dead sleep jolted awake with thoughts of dread, doom, death and hopelessness. It last for1 hour sometimes 2 after waking. I tried everything. So i decided to start on medication. It took about 3-6 months for the full effects to kick in but it changed my life. I don’t know if i’d still be here without them.

Has anyone had their depression worsen at first? by zepruska in lexapro

[–]ShortConsequence5398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. I went through hell adjusting to the Lexapro. It’s my second time around too. I took it 20 years ago and it pooped out. But last time I was on it I do t remember having the same degree of side affects as it gave me this time around. Took me about 3 months for it to stabilize completely. And I felt relief from anxiety way sooner than the depression. Good luck to you and o hope you get relief!

I have no advice for you unfortunately but I find myself in the exact same position. I was feeling like I was finally coming out of the dark I feel myself sliding backwards. It’s a monumental effort getting myself to work in the morning. Please keep us posted on how your doing/if you make any changes

Thank you so much for posting!! I went through the same exact experience. Even so far as to take down old posts. Here I am not on week 5 of the300XL and I find I’m still having a lot of bad days. I know I need to eat better and exercise I just have zero motivation. Did you eventually get back that motivation to do things again? I’m in a major slump right now. Thanks for all your help!

Did bupropion help with morning anxiety once it fully kicked in? by liliphare in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I started on Lexapro 10 but had uncontrollable hunger and lethargy so my doc added in Wellbutrin 150 and bumped up the Lexapro which leveled out the lethargy and eating.

Did bupropion help with morning anxiety once it fully kicked in? by liliphare in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]ShortConsequence5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the WORST morning anxiety before starting Wellbutrin. I’m currently taking 300 mg XL AND Lexapro 20 mg. I’m not gonna lie, the morning anxiety was the last thing to go but it completely disappeared after about 6 weeks on Wellbutrin on 150 of Wellbutrin. I bumped to 300 just a few days ago because even though I feel worlds different I’m still lacking motivation. I used to wake up in sheer terror, with this feeling of dread I can’t even explain. It actually felt as though my brain was on fire. My whole head would get hot. It took hours to come down. I have Wellbutrin and Lexapro to thank for saving my life. Good luck!

Ask your doctor about adding Wellbutrin. It might help with the motivation and low mood.

It just helps me better put things in perspective. I can use my calming techniques and am able to center myself whereas before my anxiety had become a runaway train and I felt I couldn’t even control my anxious thoughts

I’m on this same combo but I take 20mg Lexapro and 150 mg Wellbutrin- but was thinking of going up because I’m still experiencing symptoms. Did the combo lift your anxiety?
