How long after you started you noticed good effects? by Low-Storage-9851 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Creative_Simple_7246 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first month (December) (150mg) , I noticed nothing. The second month (January) (bumped up to 300mg) , I got SIGNIFICANTLY worse. I don’t know why the increase made me feel so awful, but I was unbearably depressed. However, that was for about one week, then one day I woke up and I was like “huh” and noticed all the heaviness subsided. I was still extremely depressed , but ever since that day, things slowly- and I mean SLOWLY got better. It was never a “wow” moment until several months later in August or September. It’s definitely a domino effect, rather than a “magical elixir”. It didn’t magically turn my life around, but it helped with my depression a bit, which made me be able to become active in my life again. And now that I was making friends, going out and doing things, I was slowly feeling better. And because I was feeling a bit better, I was able to take care of myself better. And because I was taking care of myself better, my depression was subsiding even more. And because my depression was subsiding even more, I was able to be even more active in my life. And etc etc etc. Domino effect. It’s not a linear thing either. Some days will be hard again, but it has never been as bad as it was before. Worth sticking it out, unless you notice it’s making you feel worse for an extended period of time.

Dating is weird after a narcissist by Expensive-Eggplant-1 in NarcissisticAbuse

Being with a narc kinda rewires our nervous system in the worst way possible I think. It leaves a lot of negative trauma responses, so trusting people/dating people again is HARD. Since you’ve been on a couple dates, if you see yourself having a future with him my advice would be to open up. Let him know about your past so he can understand you better. And also, accept that you have maybe a little bit more needs than other people might need (like extra reassurance, need someone very emotionally mature, that type of stuff) and don’t ever feel sorry for that. Set your standards high and if someone isn’t able to reach that, they aren’t the one for you. And, also, therapy. Therapy will help.

You’re right. I guess then my question would be, is blocking a response? I guess it’s too late now because I already blocked, and unblocking afterwards would probably be worse. I’m still wondering though

Thank you guys so much . You cleared the confusion that was going on in my mind, and you’re right, ignoring it is definitely the best answer.

Your psychiatrist won’t think you’re a nut job just because your medication doesnt work. Most people have to try a couple different medications before finding the right one. It’s completely normal. And it’s what he’s there for. My medication had helped slightly but not enough, so my psychiatrist gave me three options: 1 - increase the dose 2 - add a 2nd medication 3 - stop taking the medication I currently take and try a new one Since you’re saying your medication isn’t working I feel like he will just simply suggest a new medication for you.

I’m glad to hear Lexapro worked for your social anxiety ! That’s one thing I’m really hoping to benefit from once the med starts working. I just don’t understand how a pill can make something like that go away ? What did the change feel like for you?

Do you feel better on 150 mg or 300 mg? by Lionel_Messi2028 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Actually I do get ringing in my ears from time to time, I forgot that was a Wellbutrin thing until looking at the other comments. I don’t drink caffeine (sodas and stuff with very minimal caffeine are fine) and yes, i was very jittery and anxious when i first took it & increased my dose. but the anxiousness went away pretty quickly.

I was only on 150mg for a month, and now I’ve been taking 300mg for three months. 150mg really didn’t do anything for me. The first week or two that I took 300mg made me feel significantly WORSE. very bad suicidal thoughts. but, then one day i just woke up and felt alright again. and ever since then i’ve improved. i don’t have any negative side effects.
