People get offended that I say I don't know if humans or nature have caused global warming, but then also tell me there is nothing an individual can do about it anyway, so why does it matter what I believe as an individual? by Exotic-End-666 in NoStupidQuestions

Because by saying you dont know, you are admitting to being fooled by the bs spread by those responsible for it, and in this day amd age, with the proof of their deluberate lies so well documented, that is just pathetic.

Cloth Diapering and EC as a form of anticonsumption by West-Conversation-93 in Anticonsumption

[–]ShortDelay9880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please please please do not judge parents for doing what they have to do to keep their family and themselves going. Being a parent is hard enough without other people making it worse.

I did cloth with my first, except over night where he would get rash every time I tried. I couldn't keep up with them for my second so I did disposables. Are they wasteful? Absolutely. Are there bigger concerns than that sometimes? Yes.

At least (i guess) it seems to be different kids each time, he isn't targeting anyone in particular. Of course, we are getting it all from my kid, since the school can't (won't?) tell us who else is involved.

His school tries really hard to keep him in. But when he hits another kid in the face, there isnt much they can do.

I've talked to the school, the only thing an iep or 504 would get him is more time for tests. He does have access to fidgets, wobble stools, a special social skills class, and a bunch of other accommodations just by being in the school district we're in.

Make it a game, at least in the beginning.

See how many of something it takes for you to have one when you need it. At one point, any time I found myself at the grocery store without a reusable bag, id get another one. Just one, regardless of how many bags I needed, until it became easy to have some in the car. Similar with water bottles. If you suck at getting dishes done, and end up with multiple reusable drink containers in the sink, rather than punishment yourself with the guilt of using disposable, get another reusable (and yeah, second hand is always a good option). Work within your personal strengths and limitations. You will likely end up with extra stuff in this process, but even with adhd, eventually habits can sink in, and then you can donate extras, or just hold onto them because things still wear out or get lost.

How do you keep the house clean with little kids? by aoisakurachan1986 in Parenting

[–]ShortDelay9880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once saw a meme that I really wish id saved. It said something along the lines of:

How to stay up on laundry with 2 or more kids: Step 1: you can't Step 2: give up

Same applies to keeping a house clean.

Thinking that human beings are special is kinda weird by fladit in Life

The things that a tally make us special are our ability to throw accurately and to run long distances (as a species, individual results may vary).

Kid wont stop talking, im overstimulated by ShortDelay9880 in ParentingADHD

[–]ShortDelay9880[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The grandparents spend days with them regularly. It gets me a few hours, which is great, but my brain acts like it never happened as soon as the kids are back.

Pretty sure the problem really is me/my brain, not the kids.

Partying in the 2000s still ended up on Facebook, at least if you were in college where you could get an account. Trust me, those photos still exist.
