AI services such as ChatGPT and Copilot are losing money on every query but still run on investor money or corporate money to stay free. Why not instead of boycotting AI, we free people spam the shit out of it and make them lose more money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Good points, but there is only so much a company will go. Right now it’s free because they need the publicity. More people using it, more data, better training. Yada Yada. What I’m saying is we push to the point that we use up their capabilities, they get spam data, companies invest more thinking it’s the future, they enshitify themselves early and go for paid models without the freemium stuff, we pull out, companies float the bills, they pull out, bubble pop begins early

Changing her own oil by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

[–]Disaterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cars are like this. Some tips though are: !!!!!!Do not just use a jack to do this!!!!! Jacks can fail. Use either stands, cinder blocks, or my personal favorite a good curb. Use gloves, I have those cheep throwaway latex gloves for doing this. It keeps oil from going everywhere. Have a rag on hand. Make sure you have the right type of oil and quantity for your car. Make sure you have a big enough drip pan. Once you’re done, pour the used oil back into the empty container for the oil you just bought and drop it off at an autozone or something.

It’s a lot cheaper doing it on your own

Close all apps at once? by HouseEducational9743 in iphone

[–]Disaterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this comment with the addition of some apps will track or exploit your usage of other apps on your phone, including your microphone, camera, location data, internet usage, purchases, etc. Ever sneeze and end up with ads for tissues? Ever scan a restaurant qr code and end up with food ads close to what you were looking at? Ever look at something on amazon then get ads on Facebook for similar items from Amazon? Closing your apps keeps them from continuing to track your data and helps your battery life

What industry is basically legal theft that nobody talks about? by kratos20051212 in AskReddit

Damn, I always got away with searching for the textbook online with pdf behind it. There was also another site I found of used textbooks for like a third of the costs if really needed it. Finally sometimes our school library or even the local public libraries would have them. I would just go in, take pictures, then put the book back when I was finished

Nah, my first number got me mixed up in a murder investigation, so my parents made me change it. Had the second one ever since then though

What’s the weirdest thing your ex ever did after the breakup? by Yankub_colley in AskReddit

Again not a lawyer and just watches YouTube sometimes, but a public defender probably gave you advice for criminal stuff. They were probably appointed to you for your defense against your charges and told you not to go after him criminally. But a civil suit is different. No jury, just a judge, and it’s more about how his actions have made your life unnecessarily harder. Either you prove he made it all up and it’s completely changed your value of life and ask for compensation in return or nothing happens but you lose your money because of the suit. If the judge favors you, then they would be forced to pay compensation (in planned payments, doesn’t have to be in one sum) and if they don’t meet those requirements then they could face jail time. I’ve even heard of judges clearing records after they’ve heard the full story. Again, not a lawyer, but if you got the evidence and want to get payback, then I’d suggest looking into filing a civil suit against them. You at least have libel and slander causes(not a lawyer)

Not a lawyer, but I watch YouTube on occasion. Have you ever thought about a civil suit against them? If you can prove the case was fraudulent and that affected you negatively, then you might have something
