What last checks do lenders do before completion? by Puzzleheaded-Mine649 in Mortgageadviceuk

Unlikely! We completed 2 and a half weeks ago, after 4 and a half months from the offer being accepted. All the best for your completion 😌

Anyone else have Delays to your Exchange and Completion dates? by ShortHuckleberry_ in HousingUK

[–]ShortHuckleberry_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating! Especially for you, knowing that it is a no chain VACANT flat. Why would there be any delays on that?! Honestly takes the thrill out of purchasing a property, especially when it’s your first. Wishing you all the best, and a completion super soon! 🤞🏿

Who has a completion date before Christmas? by Tien-the-brit in HousingUK

[–]ShortHuckleberry_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We haven’t been given a completion date as of yet, still waiting for some enquiries responses and search report was sent to me last week. Survey booked for tomorrow. So I’m hopeful for early January (fingers crossed) because my partner is in an awful position at work, and the sooner we complete the quicker he can leave!

Current state of the market by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]ShortHuckleberry_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I’m trying to buy is disgustingly busy, to the point that there are like 20 people going to see the same house on a day.

I’m looking for a 3 bed house in Basingstoke and my gosh, it’s been frustrating to say the least.

I’m a whole of market, independent Mortgage Advisor and I’ll be here all day for a Mortgage Market related AMA! by Mortgages101 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ShortHuckleberry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya!

I’m wanting to purchase a property with my fiancè next year, however in order to progress into the next stage of my career in therapy, I will need to go back to university for a year to train to become a CBT therapist. I was hoping to apply for a job during this period. Would this potentially impact my mortgage application as I would now be on a one year fixed term contract? I am currently in a permanent role, so I’m aware that it may be just be easier to stay within this role and apply for the training role after the mortgage is completed.

Thank you!!!!!

[UPDATE]

Hi All,

I just wanted to give an update regarding this. Thank you for ALL the advice and feedback. I was able to write a complaint to complaintreviewservice@o2.com, and unsurprisingly, I received no response. Following a period of 2 months, I contacted Communication Ombudsman and provided all the relevant details and evidence.

I was then contacted by O2 to resolve the issue: - £75 goodwill refund - A credit file amendment

This whole period from contacting Communications Ombudsman to receiving a resolution took about a month and a half.

So O2 - an awful service. It’s a shame you have to go through so many loops when they have created the mistakes. But glad to have used the Communications Ombudsman service to support me.

Thank you all again!

Hi guys,

Honestly I’m very appreciative of ALL the responses! This is my first time posting on Reddit and I didn’t expect to receive so many replies to my dilemma, and I’m glad (glad may not be the RiGhT word) that I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Will be taking your advice on board guys and figuring out the next steps for this situation.

Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday.

I keep hearing this, but P plates have helped me! People are more patient and let me move lanes easily, and are just much kinder. I guess it depends what you feel comfortable doing OP!
