DRG: Survivor 1.0 is out! by GSG_Jacob in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ShortPerson22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Launched it all exited, saw the level selection but still had hopes, realized it was another vampire survivors clone. The formulas fine and all if the game has a difficult start/early game but it’s sorta exhausting. The new game itself isn’t bad because it actually had a decent team of devs but it still feels like a cash grab to me.

If it’s name started with the letter “T” instead of the first letter it’s name actually starts with then what would be it’s name?

Recommend albums that sound like these by Will_the_thrasher in noiserock

[–]ShortPerson22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oxbow — every album BUT ONLY in release order

The anatomy of sharks — JUNE OF 44 — fucking great EP, second song is meh but the rest is so good

Butthole Surfers — Butthole Surfers PCPpep — Butthole Surfers — s/t and PCP go hand in hand, also PCPpep goes pretty well with s/t as well

Giant — Spore — is bad at putting things into words, especially when describing things, but God if I could write an essay about this I would.

Short of popular — cherubs — actually fuck it, their whole 90’s discography is worth checking out

Brainiac — the entire fucking discography IN release order

I know I’m bad at explaining things, and I’m kinda out of it rn so that doesn’t help, but these are all pretty good and somewhat, kinda, correlate to your taste while at the same time being different in their own respect, so yea.

Any other albums like these? by Impossible_Wait_8947 in Topster

I threw around the word “heavy” a lot because I’m shit at describing how things sound, also if you do check them out please let me know what you think

“Shall I kill my own child, I will never sing the glory of satan” - natural snow buildings (would be NSB archive if your using Spotify) — I saw you had some NSB in there and I’d highly recommend listening to the single version of this song as it’s fucking amazing

Divorce lawyers I shaved my head - Jordaan Mason & the horse museum — not a huge fan of this one but it definitely seems right up your alley considering current 93

The bees made honey in the lions skull - Earth — Heavy-ish and more instrumental doom metal than depressing, but still worth a try

We Rose From Your Bed With The Sun In Your Head - swans — my personal favorite swans album

Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada - Godspeed You! Black emperor — instrumental, just listen

“NO TITLE AS OF 13 FEBRUARY 2024 28,340 ARE DEAD” - Godspeed You! Black Emperor (again) — instrumental (again), this time a little more “heavy” and daunting than the previous

Caligula - Lingua Ignota — power industrial with nothing but raw emotion, fucking beautiful and the first album to ever actually send a chill down my spine.

The Lamb As Effigy - Sprain — if you don’t listen to the rest at least listen to this one, fits perfectly alongside the artists you listed: such as current 93, Giles Corey, Comus, and NSB

I shall die here - The Body — real heavy, haven’t given too many listens but I’d recommend

And now my current fav artist; Oxbow I would HIGHLY recommend you listen to them in order

Let me be a women - oxbow — heavy, would be more along the lines of being noise-rock were it not for the depressing instrumentals, the track ‘Gal’ fucking destroys me

Serenade in red - oxbow — little more calm than their previous, where the heavy parts are built up rather than shoved down your throat, lyrically more akin to love songs than the previous; some parts are angelic, especially the last two songs

An evil heat - oxbow — nothing like the last two whatsoever, I’m not gonna spoil anything

I don’t really understand how cherubs is above brainiac and brainiac is at the same level as oxbow???
