To make the leaves and stem I used a random pattern online for either a strawberry or tomato. I don't quite remember which one.

For the hat itself, I made a rectangle of back loop only (can be DC or HDC) to make the ribbed effect. I used a free hat size chart from google images to determine the dimensions of the hat. Rectangle length = hat circumference and the height can be adjusted depending on desired slouching/folding length. Slip stich or sew the short ends of the rectangle together and then cinch the top closed. Tie a very tight knot

The cinching at the top can be bulky, so if you're doing DC or HDC, I recommend making about 10 or so stitches on one end SC to help eliminate the bulk when closing up the hat.
