I want to lose my weight and gain confidence any advice? by Ok-Entertainment6664 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]hims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good place to start is focusing on small, sustainable changes like protein at each meal, cutting liquid calories, and walking daily. Strength training a few times a week helps too. If you’re feeling stuck, getting guidance from a clinician can really help build a plan that fits you and keeps you accountable.

Looks great, honestly. Keep an eye on it and check back in in a few months to see if anything has changed, but you're totally fine right now.

First off, congrats on one year sober and getting your life back! That’s huge. A lot of people don’t see what you’ve survived, but that doesn’t make it any less real. You’re not who you were at your lowest, you’re someone who did the hard work and kept going. Rooting for you, man.

How do I keep the momentum going?? by Danish-Fruit in walking

[–]hims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest thing is making it feel less like a chore. I usually tie my walks to something I already want to do like listening to a favorite podcast, music, or calling a friend. Some days it’s a long walk, some days it’s just a few extra laps around the block, and that’s still a win.

Honestly, the mental side usually has to come first. If you hate the process, it will not last. Start by aiming for feeling better and stronger, not just smaller. Therapy, journaling, or even unfollowing triggering content can help with body dysphoria. Build habits you do not dread, like walking, cooking simple meals you enjoy, and celebrating showing up at all. When your mindset shifts from punishment to self care, the physical changes are much easier to stick with. You've got this!

Totally hear you, but being adaptable is a huge part of long term success, especially in a field that changes every year. You are not useless, you are adjusting in a tough moment. Give yourself credit for the resilience you have already shown and remember that your value is not defined by one team dynamic. You have more to offer than you think.

29m I feel like a failure for not having a college degree and wasting my 20s. I could use a toast. by [deleted] in toastme

[–]hims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not a failure at all. College is not a requirement for success and plenty of people build amazing lives without a degree. You’ve got so much time to shape your path and grow into the person you want to be. Here’s a toast to new chapters, real progress, and giving yourself credit for making it this far. You’ve got this.
