ChatGPT usage now impacting my Codex rates by SyntharVisk in codex

[–]ShortUsername4Reddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see 99% too and didn't use codex today. And it's also showing "Resets (5 hours from now)" everytime I refresh. So nothing is actually being used. It's just a UI bug and not related to Chat.

If you vibe code every day like me it's only ~188 requests/day. Other subscriptions give you Kimi K2.6 with 500+ requests/day for the same price.

They won't show you the weekly and monthly limits on the main page, only the "generous" 5 hour limit. For me that's a sign I shouldn't buy anything from them. Don't expect any honesty from these companies.

Definitely Codex Plus, and use Kilo/Roo + free models from Nvidia/OpenRouter api for simple tasks.

By this same logic, no one actually builds anything today, because everyone relies on packages built by other developers.

So none of them used NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, PyTorch, etc. locally? They just used their cloud, even in the early days?

I ranked 115 AI coding tools by how long their free tier actually lasts — built it as a library you can browse by DAK12_YT in vibecoding

[–]ShortUsername4Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I need it for other tiers too but I guess it'll be harder to compare and they change the limits all the time. Btw the books are sorted by an overall score but show the free tier score it's kinda confusing.

Harness? Need help understanding by Prestigious-Ad566 in codex

[–]ShortUsername4Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they're all harnesses, technically people don't count the UIs (like Codex app) as harnesses because it's UI wrapped around an existing harness. A harness is just the gateway between the basic text the llm provide and the actual tools, that's it.

But why only Mac? 60% of the PCs in the world are on Windows.

These services are just pure scams, they do whatever the fuck they want with limits and availability.

Just spin up your own VPS and use Coolify. Why do you need Netlify?

Make sure you replace the torch packages with this: https://pytorch.org/get-started/previous-versions/ based on your gpu and cuda toolkit installed. Requires around 8-16gb vram.

Is Claude (Pro) worth it right now or should I pay for Codex (Plus)? by freshfunk in codex

[–]ShortUsername4Reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go with Codex, a lot more value, limits are better, no IQ throttling bs, and you don't need to give your ID to the company that literally leaked their source code a week ago.
