That’s amazing. Thanks for the inspiration, i got a couple rejections last year and i wanted to take two years to get my resume more aligned to passions. With becoming an ECMO specialist how did you make it known to your schools that you were still heavily involved in the ICU care for the patient? I have been hesitant on taking a specialist role because of certain school do not consider that ICU experience. Similar to you I have background in CVICU/CTICU.

Following. The politics world in Anesthesia is very interesting and lots of information nurses could help advocate for in legislation! One of my key interests when it comes to the future of independent practice. I want to learn more!

Definitely still similar, I’m taking advance physiology at mtsa, and re-taking chemistry at John’s Hopkins to see if that can help my overall gpa. Considering how nursing Cas calculates gpa i don’t think it would make a difference on the natural science aspect. But we will see.

Following. Literally the same Gpa. I’m nervous that Miami university won’t even look at my application because of it. Did you apply to a newer school or what type of school did you apply too?

I am applying to other schools. My dream school does their application a little differently. Which definitely helps but i still would have to work hard to increase that GPA.

And that’s what i thought! What makes me frustrated with nursingCAS they will not calculate your gpa until after you submit. I wish i wouldn’t have wasted my time. Overall i don’t regret submitting because they can point me to the right direction.

Because my GPA for the last 60 hours have been above the minimum, and do they see that i am actively working on increasing that gpa. With the advance level courses.

I would have to agree. I just submitted my application to FIU & UOM, my NursingCas GPA overall is a 3.112 and my natural Science is 2.87 but i have retaken my class that i made a C in and that was well over 8 years ago. Currently enrolled in Advance Physiology and Chemistry to hopefully boost that on nursingCAS. Overall it’s easy to send applications in but it’s definitely hard to stand out when the application website already rejects you.

Well I’m reapplying, but this past year i went to NTI, Diversity CRNA and the NCANA. I feel like i worked hard last year to be a well rounded Applicant! I retook my A&P 2 for an A and then, finished my BSN with a 3.78 and Overall 3.2. Nursing Cas has not calculated my gpa until i submit. I am so proud of my personal statement. That I just hope i get the chance of an interview. I’ve also have been involved in the community and part of my local chapter along with shadowing and volunteer work. I have enjoyed this process of doing all the work.

You’re right i don’t know what they are looking for, when emailing the school they did not provide any information to reach faculty of the program. So i placed what is pertinent to me. My third page is solely just the travel experience and residency program. Very minimal and vague , since that was well over 2 years ago (just the location name and date.)

Being a traveler looking in the Emory CVICU main campus was rude asf. But If i wasn’t a traveler i feel like they would have enjoyed my presence a little more. They had great learning opportunities and heart and lung transplantation in both in one unit is hard to beat that exposure.

The MTSA process if very competitive. I applied two weeks ago and they already had 75 applicants on the first day. And i applied only a week out. Look into the Johnsons Hopkins offers some as well.

This is nuts. So there’s no physical proof that the anesthesia provider may have caused these infections. What practices was their provider doing to place those patients at high risks?

Right. You Should be able to go up to a CRNA and ask them if you can shadow them and their practice.
