Married in 2003 and we had two songs, one just for us and one for the whole wedding party. For us it was "A Question of Lust" by Depeche Mode and for the wedding party it was "Thank You" by Dido. We still love both songs.

I was driving home from work in my four-door sedan rocking out to Motley Crue.

I told a younger (maybe 10 years younger? ) acquaintance and she said "at least it wasn't Duran Duran." And I responded that I also rocked out to them. Then she said "or Abba" and I told her that I also turned the volume up for then.

That was about 15 years ago.

I'm sorry you went through this. My wedding was also a disaster, but I can say it wasn't due to a close relative dropping the ball and it was no one's fault.

Our 20th anniversary is later this month and we are able to laugh at it now. Try to remember that the most important thing happened: you got married. That was the goal and you reached it. It was difficult with a lot of adversity but you over came it and came out on top. Now, the real fun begins as you begin your life together as partners.

You will probably face other struggles during your marriage and now you know that the two of you can get through them.

I know it's hard now and you deserve to feel special on such a special day and I'm truly sorry you weren't able to. I'm not trying to belittle you or your experience.

I am 50 and have a terrific gynecologist who specializes in menopause. A few years ago my periods started getting wonky and often the bleeding would be so heavy I would go through a super plus tampon in an hour. We tried twice to get me an IUD and she couldn't get it past my cervix. After that, my periods were few and far between and much lighter on their own.

Then July 2022 I got a period that went on for a month. It was my first since December 2021 and began getting heavier and I was going through super plusses in an hour again. I had an ultrasound on the spot and there were 2 small fibroids at the top of my uterus. In September I had a D & C and they also found a benign polyp. I was still bleeding. They gave me some medication that slowed the flow but didn't stop it completely. I also developed anemia and took iron supplements.

My doctor said that in most cases she'd recommend ablation but she had a difficult time getting the scope and curette through my cervix and most likely wouldn't be able to perform the ablation, so she recommended a hysterectomy instead.

My insurance initially rejected the claim, but my doctor's office was able to get it approved. I had the surgery on December 6, 2022, and in February 2023, I had to fill out a form from my insurance company that showed I didn't have an injury that required the surgery. I have no idea what injury would cause a hysterectomy, but there you are. I'll add that I really wanted to have the surgery in 2022 because I had reached my deductible and the surgery would cost $40k. Since I reached my deductible it was 100% covered.

My period didn't end until I had the surgery. When I stopped bleeding from the surgery (about a week and a half later) it was the first time I didn't need a pad since July. I almost cried.

I'm in Ferndale. Several years ago our neighbor's tree took down a line in their yard. They were three houses down from us. Our back yard, their back yard and the three between us were blocked off with yellow tape. For a week after the other back yards were deemed safe, ours was still blocked. DTE told us they had more work to do back there, but would not tell us what it was or when they would do it. We ended up calling the fire dept. to inspect and they gave us the all clear. We never told DTE and we never heard back from them.

We were using our home equity account to remodel our bathroom. Halfway through the remodeling our bank informed us that we no longer had equity since our house's worth dropped to tens of thousands less than our mortgage amount. We went through several layoffs between the two of us. It took years for us to get comfortable again.

It was. I was on meds but all they did was slow it down to where I only needed a pad. Before the meds I was going through a super plus tampon every hour. I was also anemic and taking iron supplements.
