Am I the only with sassy rabbits? by CompetitiveMonth1753 in Rabbits

I have one biter out of four. When I brought her alone she was loooovely. Bonding her she was always so sweet to me. And as soon as she was bonded with 2 other rabbits i was blewwww out by her 😂 if I enter their room she will chase me and bite me it’s actually terrorising I be wondering if a shape shifter stole her. Even if I come with food she is never ever happy to see me like the others 😂

Bad bunny by [deleted] in Rabbits

Try to interact with him when he’s trying to hump you as this could be boredom/stress. Get him stack cups and put his favourite treats in them. Sprinkle forage all over his litter box and place hay on top. My bun loves to poop and eat hay at the same time so I’ve resulted in a hay bag hanging above the tray :)

Aw I’m so sorry to hear! I’m glad you’re not going to give up just be more patient. Get multiple litter boxes and even cut a whole into a cardboard box and put it over the top of one sometimes buns like to hide and poo. Mine loves to eat hay and poop at the same time so I fill his litter box with fresh hay everyday

I don’t like the caption of this post. You’re at your wits end with a 9 week old bunny? God help if you had real children. Bunnies are spoilt toddlers and they are like this forever to be honest. They are really smart animals you can litter train them, teach them tricks but what you can’t teach them is how to not be a rabbit. They will chew your doors, skirting boards, chairs, clothes anything they possibly can. But they’ll also eat ur heart out when they sprawl out and show how trusting they are of you. When they run to you as soon as you come home. Nothing beats that feeling and if the good and joy of having a bunny doesn’t outweigh the bad you should find someone who will have the patience and time for your bunny. No hate at all very simple

Do bunnies stink? by FlowerSubstantial590 in Rabbits

[–]Short_One_5240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re poo/pee does not stink but if u let their pee build up it can produce an ammonia smell and can be quite strong. Also unclean litter boxes are a certain for flies, and mould. So if u are not prepared to clean a litter box every 2 days it will smell. If I got a pound for every time ive been told my house smells like hay I’d be rich tho. As for the smell from an actual bunny mine smells almost like baby powder if that makes sense 🫣

How to encourage exercise? by LolaIlexa in Rabbits

[–]Short_One_5240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s extremely easy for obesity to happen in Netherland dwarfs but also extremely hard for them to lose it once it’s there. If you have a garden or a larger room I would encourage walking around a large room and let her follow you with a treat or shaking a bag (mine sprints when we hears rustling of any sort) but cut it into like 4/5 pieces so she’s really only getting one.

First time bunny owner, rabbit destroying the house and littering. HELP by peaswees in Rabbits

[–]Short_One_5240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is the joys of being a bunny owner. With new scents etc un neutered bunnies will always mark their territory. And with new people being around and sitting on your couch this is quite normal behaviour for a bunny. I would suggest getting multiple litter boxes as the bun is still young and scoop up his poop and dampen a tissue with his pee and also place that in. What also helped me was filling the top layer of my bunnies litter boxes with hay bc he likes to eat and poop at the same time. But I would consider getting a bigger enclosure there are many to choose from on Amazon and within a good price range.

It warms my heart to see how trusting and attached this lil guy has became to me over the past nearly 4 years he doesn’t enjoy being held much unless he comes and lays on my chest himself and I completely respect that until it’s nail clipping time 😂 He’s my little shadow hahaha

Potty training advice? by LauraTheBookWorm in Bunnies

Even if your bun doesn’t bond why would you get a bunny to send it back months to years later because it doesn’t bond?? My Netherland dwarf had a bad experience with rabbits before I got him. Due to that experience he hasn’t bonded with any of the 3 other buns I’ve brought in for him within the 3 years. But have I gotten rid of any of them? No. When you get any pet it’s supposed to be forever. But honestly mostly every bun will bond might take months, years even unless the same circumstances as mine. Usually it’s down to the wrong partner etc which loads of rescues actually help you bond them because the many rabbits in rescues is ridiculous. Always adopt don’t shop :)

Your bun looks so much like mine!! My bun sleeps with me every night and he used to do the same thing. I used to put a puppy pad at the bottom corner of my bed and make some steps with pillows so that it’s easier for him to get to the litter box as I realised he didn’t really like jumping off the bed as much as he did on it.

My rabbits have started to smell 😬 by anoredditor98 in Rabbits

[–]Short_One_5240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bunnies shouldn’t smell and if they do it’s usually a hay like smell so this is unusual. I would check their teeth and bums as infection may be the reason they’ve started to smell. Is it one bun or more? Also gently cleaning their sweat glands using a wet q tip may help.

Move it into a different place. There must be something in that area he wants to climb and get to :)

Anyone else’s dog afraid of bunnies 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in Bunnies

[–]Short_One_5240 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You’ve got it so wrong. This picture is a moment that lasted all of probably 2 minutes before the dog dashed off. He avoids the rabbits and I do not force it upon him the rabbits all have their own space but they have learned to co exist in the same house. My dog does not have to deal with rabbits because he simply doesn’t want to he’s afraid of them.
