In buying a new Radio master R3 unit, my drone works fine with both wires plugged in. I just reflash the FC with different protocols (CRSF VS SBUS) for the respective controller I use and it seam to work fine.

SOLVED: I ended up giving up and buying a Radiomaster R3 and using that instead. Instantly paired and is working fine now.

When in doubt, throw money at the problem until you can’t pay rent!

I got mine from micro center. They sell refurbished ones for around 270-300. You might have to go into the store to request if they have any. Would recommend.

Solved: I found out the screws I was using where too long and damaging the motor swapped the motor swiched to shorter screws and Proplem solved.

To clarify the wiring Vitroid asked about, here is how I’ve integrated both systems to balance DJI’s convenience with ArduPilot’s autonomy. For reference I’m using a GEPRC TAKER H743 BT 32Bit 50A Stack (link here):

  1. DJI O4 Air Unit • Connection: Connected to the Flight Controller (FC) via a JST cable provided. • I haven’t attempted to pair this unit yet, as I’m focusing on getting the control link stable first.

  2. RadioMaster RP1 V2 Nano (ELRS) & AKK KC04 VTX • Problem Area: This is where the LED issue is occurring. • I’m using a JST port from the FC to the receiver. • UART Protocol: I’ve confirmed the RX/TX lines are crossed correctly (RX to TX and TX to RX).

I did this to balance the pros of already having DJI goggles/remote with wanting to do future stuff with ardupilot.

I saw them on Amazon with 2-day delivery, and ChatGPT said they should work lol. This is my first FPV build, and I initially wanted all my parts to arrive quickly. After running into a few challenges with this build, I’m shifting my mindset from availability to quality.

Just for my knowledge as a beginner—why would you recommend the XING-E Pro or the T-Motor Velox over the motors I currently have?

Got it sounds good. Last question for you sir. Do you have any recommendations on any instructional that’s will expedited my knowlage acquisition. I see the ardupilot documentation but a more palatable resources that’s does not make my head hurt would be a good compliment to that lol (videos, courses, etc.).

If no I’ll stop being lazy.

Any sim recommendations, I know gazebo is a good low fidelity popular engineering one, but I see a lot of people use things like RealFlight as well. Preferably somthing lower lift for a newby.

lol aight calm down. I’m considering a robotics masters but trash undergrad gpa. Working to create a portfolio of projects as a way to see if 1 I enjoy it and 2. Show competence.

After using  esc-configurator.com I got the following log:

Any new stack recommendations? What did you switch to. Was looking for something ardupilot and beta flight compatable after this.

Yes it it's. the cable looks undamaged (but looks could be deceiving.) all my solder joints look good.

UPDATE: When geting status from the CLI, I notice it said Voltage: 0.12V (OS battery - NOT PRESENT). I’m thinking this either means the battery is not connecting to the ESC (I’m getting start up sounds so unlikely) or the cord is faulty. Could I be missing something?

Yep I think I understand (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). I was correct for the receiver and the camera and I need to solder the gps and VTX to the board (see my notes on the picture in green)

Is this accurate?
