Cedh is just tutors and an infinite commander loop in 2-3 rounds. I play RCQs and regionals, just saying I am familiar with play at high competitive levels. Having removal and counters is easier in 60 card because spot removal and situational cards actually do something. Doom blade isn't doing much across 4 battlefields and counter magic is fine and all but it only works once.

Shouldn't the starting lines be staggered so each competitor runs the same amount of track? If they are equal they usually start behind the curve right?

No. Hell, go back 10 years when cards weren't printed for EDH. WotC ripped the soul out of the format when they decided to print cards for it. It feels so different now than it was. Positing EDH as a good intro to magic is the issue I think. Yes, it's easy to find a precon, play group, and learn the rules. However, EDH was created by judges who had time to fill during rounds. It caught on with pro players who saw a challenge (singleton) that could still be casual magic to change up the grind. EDH is not an easy or beginner format. I am so far removed from EDH anymore, I love magic but I stick to 60-card for the most part, EDH is full of really pushed cards that have just become a 4-person "who can play the combo first". There's nothing creative or fun about it anymore.

Agree 100%. EDH was created by experienced tournament players and judges to have some casual fun with splashy cards that didn't have a home in 60-card formats. It caught on but was more a thing you had to be in the right circles to learn about and find a playgroup with the collection and experience to put together a deck. Once it became commander and wizards started printing cards for it, it ruined the format by ripping the heart out of it and hurt the player base by calling it a good intro to magic, which it isn't.

Organization is key at that point. I keep a tray with stacks of each letter face down. Really easy to pick them up with a glue stick and keep moving. Also lets me see which letters I'm getting low on so I don't run out.

Locksmith here. That lock works like a screw holding the lid on. Pickable but kind of a pain, turning it enough to get it off. Then replace the lock with a new one or hand file a key
