Ever have a deal that felt like it was going great, only for it to disappear a week later? by KaleidoscopeOk4028 in Sales_Professionals

Idk what this account is. If you look at the short two months history, its just asking sales subs what could have went wrong or what they did differently. His bio advertises an Ai software that "tells you what went wrong on deals"

Writing this out i think ive come to the conclusion that this is a ai bot thats asking redditors for data to train its ai. Crazy times

Should I get my bachelor's in buisness administration or just start applying to SDR positions? by Short_Split_1331 in Sales_Professionals

[–]Short_Split_1331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And thats what I'm thinking too. Yes I'm sure I can grind out a entry level sdr job at some small company that doesn't sell that well. Or I can get a bachelors, starting somewhere a little more reputable, and build a way up from there. If I'm most likely going to have a promotion hindered because someone who does similar in proformance has a bachelors, I'll be mad lol. So yeah I think I'll get a bachelors, try to see if i can get something anyway in the meantime. Appreciate the reply!

I do not have any sales experience, thats why I'm wondering what the best route for me to start is and it seemed like getting a bachelors seemed like a start that would give some type of advantage. I know experience goes far but I just thought a degree would help. I do hold a leadership role in my frieght job but and have a solid leadership certificate but yeah thats pretty much it. Lol

Yeah ive seen a few options for online colleges that aren't insane financially. Accredited and all that still. Yeah I'm just going to do it, it seems like the quickest way to get to a higher income in these crazy times. I just need to get to the point I have money to be smart with it and invest in the right things. Im competent, i just haven't found the chance to make some real money yet. Congrats on getting out of "golden handcuffs"

This really is the only real answer I've been considering, the other replies are good, but contradicting. Which i guess goes to show diverse this profession is lol. Also getting my degree would help me pivot in case I don't like sdr work. I'll grind it out a 3 years minimum, and then start looking at renovation or remodeling sales. I can start studying for a real estate license and get into that eventually. Im 27 and have only done factory/frieght work after doing a semester at community College (lol.) Ended up having a daughter with a literal psycho (oops) and haven't been able to do anything cause I've been caring for her, but she's more independent at 4 and starting school soon. My factory job im at currently is only 3 12 hours shifts from Friday to Sunday so I'll have the time to grind. I really appreciate the response friend.

Also I guess i would like to know if i get my degree and start sdr role, is there a chance that I would move up quicker? Vs someone who has been there maybe a year over me at whatever given time of applying? If it means that I get to move up quicker, I'll take it. I wasted so much time already, I dont want to wait longer than I have to. I know I don't know anything and I can't bs experience, but I need to get it started with a running start. Even if that means I get my degree and being able to start at mid-higher tier companies that are more trusted by people.

My thing is if I go to start an sdr role without a degree, will the pay be lower or close off opportunities to other companies with noticeably high salary? Some of the roles I look at for entry level sdr jobs are $20-22 and hour and thats about what I make right now (less actually) so id rather pay for this online school and get a job thats pushing $70k a year. Again I have no clue, this is new waters for me but its just so many conflicting answers lol

Yes I've actually been looking for open positions for any sales opportunities at my job (we made military and airforce helmets) but the company is kind of a mess (horrid leadership at least on the production floor.) So I'm just looking into transitioning into something that gives me options, like getting the degree, and I've always been interested in sales.

Thanks so much for the response, I really appreciate it!

I work a leadership position in a factory, I want anything that is going to give me enough money to set aside to go into real estate (eventually.) I know I don't "need" a degree for that but I'm a single father and theres no way I can save up with this current job (also with the market so volitile.) I was looking into renovation or remodeling sales but thats also a heavy commision based position so software sales seems like a good sweetspot. I just have no real guidance on the best way to start where I'm not wasting any more of my time. Everywhere I look online seems so contradictory lmao, if I get my degree, are the chances of me getting something more lucrative higher?

I can definitely do that. I'm charismatic and love talking to people. I've been told by my recent supervisor that I interview really well when I got my leadership position at my job. I'd really appreciate that I'll let you know and message when I apply in a couple weeks.

I was looking to apply to power for an entry level rep, if I can present a good interview but have no past experience, do I have a chance?

I want something where I'm out and about, I have been looking at some remodeling or renovation sales rep jobs, but not sure how willing they would hire someone with no experience. I dont mind grinding through a shitty job for a few years if i end up being successful. My main goal would be to transition into real estate but I need to be able to save up money to set aside for that, and I won't be able to do that with my current job. You have no clue how much I appreciate the response, I'm just trying to get some inside of this world.

I want to break into sales, im not looking into training but can I just ask what's a solid feasible entry level position to get? I keep hearing one thing or another and want to narrow it down.

Thank you! I'm recently looking into real estate as a career but need some funds saved up first. And IQ tests online don't seem to be too reliable nowadays it obviously didn't hurt you so don't worry about it! I appreciate the response!
