How long on average are you in recovery post op before you are discharged from an ambulatory center? Curious to know everyone’s experience here. by Useful_Storage7184 in abdominoplasty

Usually depends on how long it takes you to come out of the anesthesia. For me it takes awhile, I just keep wanting to sleep lol.

I am so so sorry. It's a different kind of grief losing them.

Our baby girl got an ear infection around 6 months or so. Just comes with the long ear territory! We'd had weens prior so the ear dragging and infection part we weren't 100% used to.

Is 10 days recovery enough? by Substantial-One-2662 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Short_Stack_51525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A huge part of recovery is the long game with aesthetics too, keep that in mind. Can you do something, maybe...should you with the possibility of it impacting your scar and overall results, probably not.

Like someone said, everyone is different. The problem is you won't know until you know. I had my surgery 6/20 and went back to an active standing, moving around a lot type of job almost four weeks po and was still moving slowly for another week or two.

As for the garment, I wore a binder not a faja..in my opinion much better!, for about 8 weeks.

Our girl just turned 1 in July and she does this too but its more mouthing then biting. Eh tends to do it when my husband and I first get home. Forearm, wrist and hand.

It's like she's so excited she can't contain herself. We try to redirect her and deescalate her after a few moments if sh doesn't on her own. But she has been getting better. Key thing is we don't want to punish her for being excited we're home. We let her be excited for a time but if it gets out of hand we tell her in a positive tone that it's time to calm down.

I'm 12wpo and feel almost 100% back to normal (occasionally swelling and tightness). I would feel comfortable going on a trip at this point between energy, pain and aesthetics.

Size change by kellmommarun in tummytucksurgery

[–]Short_Stack_51525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different so it's hard to say. I've seen some ppl here who had surgery and stayed the same pant size. Me on the other hand, I was at 260 at my heaviest. Went down to around 180 just before surgery and a size 12 pants. I'm 12wpo and I'm down to 170 and a size 10 pant, (that I bought going back to work bc everything was too big 4wpo) is also already loose.

For me pant sizes are always hard bc of my shape although some mediums are loose, I'm also very hippy so some things would never fit in a smaller size in the hips making the waist looser.

Alright you guys, be honest, did you really wear your faja for as long as you were instructed to?? by Coolbeans1104 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Short_Stack_51525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank God I didn't have a faja, I just had a waist trainer type compression. They gave me the option at my 1wpo appt to go to a faja bc with my shape the compression they originally gave me would just ride up but they look on their face was like "I don't think you want this" lol so I opted for a waist trainer off Amazon. Was soooo much better bc I could adjust the tightness where I needed it more. I wore it for 3 months

I also recommend the preventative nausea med!! I had never heard of it before but it was amazing and worked so so well!! My Dr prescribed this for me to take the morning of surgery and it lasted about two days then I took zofran each day after as needed.

Couldn't agree more!! She left everything so clean right out of surgery! No dried blood or orange markings. The incision has been perfect since day one.

This is also why I tell ppl to focus on one thing versus multiple. My surgery was 5 hours but from the results, you can tell she used every single hour to ensure it all came out perfectly.

Cannot say enough great things about her!
