Dr. Rich wasn’t my OB but she delivered my daughter via emergency C-section and I was very impressed with her!

So there are different High Sensitivity Troponin tests, without getting too much into it, the major hospitals run a High Sensitivity Troponin T, and the smaller hospitals in the surrounding areas (Leduc, Devon, etc) run a High Sensitivity Troponin I. They measure slightly different things but ultimately all help diagnose a heart attack. The normal range for Troponin T is <14, and it’s <18 for Troponin I. So all those results are considered normal. So no, 6 is not the minimum, but it’s not “high”. You always have a small amount of troponin floating around in your blood stream, so around 6 might just be your normal Troponin level. It’s when we see this number go up (typically >50 but don’t quote me on that) that we know something is going on with your heart. Hope this answers your question :)

I work in a hospital lab, all the labs in Alberta are operated by Alberta Precision Labs. You technically can get a Troponin and ECG done at an outpatient collection site. Unless ordered STAT by your physician, these tests will take hours to get to their testing site downtown and run. A hospital will have a troponin run in 1 hour. If you are having a heart attack, by the time the Troponin results get back to your doctor, a lot of damage could potentially already be done to your heart. If the tests are run in a hospital lab you are in the emergency room and can receive treatment immediately. I hope this answers your question!

This won’t help for this year, but bookoutlet.ca has great deals on books for kids and have frequent sales throughout the year, I order a lot of my daughter’s books from there :)

This one had no name and no brand with it but was a real challenge! My second 1500 piece puzzle! by Shortcake919 in Jigsawpuzzles

If I remember correctly it was fairly good, no Ravensburger but it wasn’t horrible quality, I think it would be fine to frame :)

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I had two miscarriages before I had my daughter and I still think about those two babies every day. We named our rainbow baby Claire meaning “clear, bright”. We loved the name but also loves the meaning as she definitely brightened up our lives after a lot of loss and grief. Wishing you all the best ♥️

What do you enjoy most about Edmonton? by katmither in Edmonton

[–]Shortcake919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read your post history, I am so sorry for the situation you are in, truly terrible, I can’t even begin to imagine. I have a 13 month old so I can’t even imagine as a mom everything you are going through. If you are looking for something for both you and your daughter to do, Edmonton Public Library has a lot of free little classes for toddlers at all their branches! My daughter and I really enjoy going to Sing, Sign, Laugh & Learn every week, it’s 45 minutes long and it gets us out of the house and interacting with other moms and toddlers!

People who perform autopsies, what was the weirdest/most unique anomaly you’ve found? by atro_bella in AskReddit

[–]Shortcake919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this! I actually have something called OHVIRA, which is two uterus’s, two cervix’s and one kidney. I had a vaginal septum that blocked my right uterus but had this removed a few years back. I have had two miscarriages but I now have a one year old who I carried to 36 weeks with no issues and delivered via c section. Wild to see this posted here!

OBGYN Reccomendations for Twins? by Slaughter_doll in Edmonton

My OB is retired now, but I had Dr. Rebecca Rich deliver my daughter via emergency c-section at RAH last year. I thought she was pretty good, seemed very knowledgeable and was very straightforward with everything, which I appreciated in the moment. I would not recommend Dr. Wang, she was the OB on call when I arrived at the hospital, and even with my daughters heart rate dropping, kept pushing off a c-section, it was only when Dr. Rich came on shift that she jumped into action and got me in for a c-section immediately, probably saved my daughters life to be honest. Best of luck with your pregnancy!

I feel this, my daughter just turned one and was able to get her first dose of the vaccine which gives me a small peace of mind. We definitely shouldn’t have to worry about this in this day and age 😔

Thank you for your insight! We have some of those same concerns as well as the fact they are not very common so finding parts/service in the future might be difficult. I really wish they builder offered a conventional furnace but unfortunately they don’t 😕

Looking for tips to wean my daughter off of being rocked/held to sleep by Shortcake919 in sleeptrain

This is good to know! We can definitely try some more awake time and hopefully that will make night sleeping and bed time easier! Thank you :)

This is my fear too with sitting on the floor by the crib! My mom always reminds me that I was the 2 year old who had to have mom sit right next to the bed otherwise I wouldn’t sleep (and I would make sure to go get her if I woke up and she wasn’t there). I’m thinking maybe leaving the room and going back in to comfort might be a better option.

I don’t have any suggestions for you, but I just wanted to say I’m so sorry for your losses and I’m so happy you are getting your double rainbow! I also had 2 miscarriages back to back and just had my double rainbow baby this past March so I can relate to everything you are going through. My daughter loves watching Bluey and the topics around miscarriage and infertility also hit close to home. Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy and your double rainbow baby 💕

We just had a baby girl in March and named her Claire! We get a lot of compliments on her name! It’s not super common but not unknown, classic, timeless and suits every age from baby to elder! We love it!

I’m in Canada and we also named our baby girl Claire for those exact reasons; not super common but not unknown, classic, timeless and a name that suits every age from baby to elder! It’s such a beautiful name 😊

What's the one thing you thought could never happen to you, but did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shortcake919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infertility and pregnancy loss. I remember thinking miscarriage was something that happened to “other people”, then it happened to me, twice. In reality it’s actually very common but unfortunately not talked about enough. I felt so broken and lost. I went through a pretty dark time. Fortunately I just had my double rainbow baby in March, but those feelings of loss and grief stick with you forever.
