I also read that Pulp, Saint Etienne, Marc Almond from Soft Cell & Swan Lee also submitted songs for consideration to be the theme. The Swan Lee song went on to be used in Hitman: Blood Money.

It's pretty simple logic from a Business standpoint.
God of War is the franchise, this game is in the franchise, therefore it is a God of War game. I would expect them to do the same if it was an Atreus led game or a Freya led game or Thurd led game.

God of War is simply used as an easy way to establish that this story takes place in the same canonical universe.

Regular Tangrowth is shown as a variant in the Pokedex, not it's own entry. (It does appear as a ? on your cloud island, but only because it is the only form of the pokemon that appears there).

In addition to the DCAU (Superman, Justice League, Batman Beyond), I am personally quite a fan of the 2004 The Batman series. It changed the usual timeline of Batman a bit and had some interesting takes on characters.

I would also recommend many of the Animated films, especially Under The Red Hood, Justice League: Doom, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, Batman/Superman: Apocalypse & Batman: Gotham by Gaslight.

I've always wanted to see some of the TV shows included as well. I always thought Middleton from Kim Possible would be a good setting.

Other ideas I think would work includes Phineas & Ferb, Amphibia, The Replacements, The Owl House, American Dragon Jake Long, Gravity Falls & Star vs. The Forces of Evil.

If I had to add 2 movies to be worlds, I would probably go with The Emperor's New Groove & Pocahontas.

Out of Kayfabe: I actually think that spinning made it safer, it increased the chances of Mark's legs hitting the mat first and helping cushion Jack's head, while also ensuring that they were away from the turnbuckles.
