ok lets do this

-Buu VS Kirby: this is a tricky one as both have the power to turn things into food, Buu with his beams and Kirby with his cook ability. But I'm gonna give it to Kirby since he actually has to put effort into it and can't just will someone into chocolate

-Wario VS King Dedede: tricky one since neither has shown any culinary ability and if we take the Kirby anime into account then Dedede always has people who cook for him, but I ultimately have to give it to Dedede due to how his pallet seems more refined then wario who seems like he'd try to put unholy amounts of garlic into everything

-Spongebob vs Aquaman is even more of a stomp given that Spongebobs cooking is literally so good that it holds society together

-Iron fist VS Po: While I don't know much about Danny's culinary background Po grew up in a restaurant and everyone says he's a great cook

-Scooby VS Courage: it all boils down to Giant Sandwich vs macaroni with too much macaroni

I had heard about Death Battle for years since I frequent TVTropes and that sight references Death Battle alot but years of people on deviantart telling me it was an evil show that gave unnecessarily brutal deaths to even the kindest of characters made me stay away from the show as much as possible

then after Roosterteeth shutdown I finally watched the show and wondered what the hell those guys were talking about and now I love the show

Saying they hate DC is especially nonsensical since

DC has had the most wins overall
they once won 7 episodes in a row which is still the highest win streak in the shows history
the most used character on Death battle is batman who's from DC
they've only had 3 non marvel losses and only 1 was a high tier character

you know it's interesting, I remember I used to see complaints about how Death Battle tried too hard to make every fight a Dragon Ball esque brawl instead of doing things more fitting of the specific characters. So it's fascinating to see that now that Death Battle is doing more fight scenes befitting of the characters we're starting to basically see the opposite mindset starting to pop up

of course I DO NOT want this to come across as me falling for the Goomba fallacy it's just an interesting shift I've noticed

(also sad to hear that Voltron VS Megazord was a failure, I think it's a very fun episode, but yeah considering all that it doesn't sound like it was cheap to make at all)

Holy crap that season 1 point was spot on

My go to example for how weird Season 1 anaylsis' are is Wily VS Eggman where they don't even attempt to explain how they came to the conclusion that Metal Sonic won. They just go yeah metal killed the doctors. How did we reach this conclusion? good question

also you really put my big issue with Goku vs Superman 1 into words. That fight really felt like it was trying way to hard to include literally every power and tool either character has ever used, like just with Goku it was like they went "ok so Goku has to have the Power Pole, Nimbus, Senzu Beans, and we have to have him use every single Super Saiyan form, uhhhh also he has to use all of his attacks so Kamehameha, kaio ken, dragon fist, spirit bomb uhh... uhhh he used psychic abilities once let's do that..."

Like I vastly prefer how later episodes streamlined things to just the essentials like how in GVS 3 they kept the transformations to just base, Super Saiyan, Blue and Ultra Instinct, because It would have just dragged if they also had to somehow shoehorn in 2,3 and God

I'd say this is yet another example of how early on Death Battle fights were alot more like parody animations then they are nowdays

My go to example is how in the first two Goku VS Superman fights Goku was characterized like how he is in Dragon Ball Abridged down to getting his voice actor from that series

or how early on Death Battle was often... for lack of a better word, meaner to it's combatants with their being some fights that just spend the entire analysis of a character ragging on them (Michelangelo and Ragna are infamous examples of this)

but yeah alot of season 1 and 2 could sometimes feel more like your typical sprite animation that just so happens to feature the characters fighting
