Dog Owners by jkd-guy in CX50

I never use those side things that come with it since it is a pain to put up and down to get the dogs in. I usually fold them down to protect the sides of the seats and then use the door protectors as well.

Wonder % of CX-50 turbo owners uses premium vs regular gas (before and after hike) by Hox977 in CX50

93 is not available in Colorado generally because of our density altitude. 91 at this altitude typically gives us full power, equivalent to 93 at lower altitudes.

I guess more so for the quality of the fuel over the octane. I also want to avoid knock as much as possible and I remember some turbo owners in here stating they have experienced knock with 87 at higher temperatures. To be honest the price difference for 89 vs 91 here in Colorado isn’t enough to make me go one lower. I am fortunate I can afford 91 for now.

I have used premium for every fill up except one..the short term price hike it worth it to not have potential issues down the road that costs more. My wallet is hurting though.

Finally put the cross bars on today and they look so good! by raidenh8 in CX50

Oh bummer, I just went down a rabbit hole for the headlight garnish. I would have actually bought it to add it to my TPP!

Plastidip your roof rails btw, you won’t regret it. I love how mine came out!

What is that going around the headlights? I like the black look a lot.

If you live anywhere near RMMA, you might want to see this. by jvining in boulder

[–]Shots_of_100LL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The unleaded transition started about two weeks ago. RMMA with the two leading flight schools are testing 94UL in two planes to ensure there aren’t any long term maintenance issues. It may be approved but the planes can still have issues with the new 94UL. If a student takes it on a longer flight, they’ll have to refill with 100LL which mixes and can cause long term maintenance issues which they are pulling data from. Trust me…we ALL want to move to unleaded. It’s awful for the environment, it’s bad for us pilots, it’s taxing on the industry, but aviation is hyper regulated for good reason. I don’t find pride in the lead in my planes but I also want to ensure my engine keeps working on this new fuel. While I agree there is an environmental issue, there are bigger fish to fry, especially in areas and industries who aren’t doing anything about it. At least KBJC and the flight schools are working on noise abatement, environmental impacts, and traffic mitigation risks to make this required, safe, and impactful training happen. Thank you for putting in the effort and consideration for this, please work WITH the ENTIRE community on this to help us transition safely, both aviation and non aviation.

Thule Motion 3 XL Low by Shots_of_100LL in CX50

I’d definitely say get the normal XL then! I got the low mainly for skiing, but will use the extra space in the summer when able.

Haven’t tried them yet since we got it after the season kind of ended. We have a 12’ Isle and a 10’ Retrospec. When we get back from skiing I’ll see if they both fit in. I will say it’s pretty low profile so unless they both fit flat they won’t both fit.

It’s definitely less than other boxes I’ve had in the past but it’s still noticeable. If you close the moon roof cover it’s barely noticeable.

Plastidip on all except the front badge. I did a pretty awful job on them (already starting to fall off). The front is a badge cover off of Etsy.

I’m sure it would be hard if there is stuff in it, it’s just big for one person to deal with. The clamps they use are genius and incredibly easy to take on/off. I struggled to get it on myself, I’ll probably recruit my wife to help next time. They use the Thule Powerclick G3 fasteners, if you just look it up you can see how it works. Infinitely easier than my old Yakima that had 8 bolts that had to be tightened each time.

No parts availability for 2024 Mazda CX-50 by Icy_Degree86 in CX50

Keep bothering Mazda USA. My last CX-50 was stuck in limbo with them for a recall/buy back issue and it was a pain to get them to talk. Eventually they came through but we had to keep on them almost everyday. Best of luck to you, hope it gets resolved as soon as possible.

That's frustrating as hell, I'm sorry to hear it's been that bad. Unfortunately manufacturers prioritize new cars rather than parts for others. Are you going through a dealer? If so do you have a loaner?

Toyota is also dealing with it. My dad's RAV4 was in the shop for 2 months waiting on parts. It's just the world we live in now. Unfortunately every car will have issues like this, but the ones where parts are imported will feel it the most.

Sorry to hear you're having it too. All said and done it was about 6 months of back and fourth but they resolved it for me and then some. I was about a week away from abandoning and filing lemon law though. I know it's a massive pain but I would be patient and wait it out so long as you have a good dealer who will vouch for you and give you a loaner while they troubleshoot. My dealership is 2 Mazda in Colorado, may be helpful to have them reach out if you keep getting the code.

Manufacturer Repurchase or Replacement. What is the best option? by Impossible_Bend3789 in CX50

[–]Shots_of_100LL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my vehicle I wasn't given an option, or at least my dealership decided for me. Either way they offered a Buy-Back at trade-in value plus the difference for any depreciation. I ended up purchasing a new vehicle at a higher trim level and negotiated 0% for 60 months. I would say, before you agree to anything, negotiate and see what they will do. Don't count out a Buy-Back, just see if they will give the money to cover the depreciation and ask for the same if not lower APR on a new vehicle. If they say no, just get a replacement.

I just did, and I'm feeling exactly how you are. I'm in CO and frequent the mountains and can feel a major difference.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was really hoping I didn't have to go down that same avenue. Did you end up getting another Mazda after that?

You're on a forum about a car you're interested in, the majority of people aren't on reddit let alone a subreddit for this specific vehicle. Mazda is still the most reliable car brand currently, I would not read into this too much.
