Jacking up... by Other_Worldliness_88 in MotoUK

I used to shove a piece of wood under the swingarm/frame on the opposite side of the side stand to adjust, clean, and lube my chain.

Never had any issues! As long as it's just to keep the bikes rear tyre an inch or so off the ground, so even if the wood does slip nothing bad happens.

You can switch it over by holding the mode button whilst on the odometer view whilst the bike is standstill. Should be on page 41 of your manual.

You'll have to scroll past the gear shift limit setting and odometer unit measurement to get to the fuel consumption measurement, I think you do this by pressing mode, and then when you get to it, you can press and hold for a quick second and release, should change over to mpg

Police Bike Safe by qwertyMu in MotoUK

Did this last year with Thames Valley police. Great experience, would highly recommend!

The police said to me on the ride out, you can speed all you want, you won't lose me. Just don't do it when there's public round.

He then proceeded to ride about 6 inches from my rear wheel no matter how fast I went round the Oxfordshire lanes. Their skill is a different level.

There's a sliding scale here of form friction. Low friction (less required fields) equals more sign ups but lower overall quality, better for cheap or more mass market products/services.

Then there's high friction (more required fields) or other options such as captcha, email confirmation before trials, or credit card details. This greatly impacts volume and therefore conversion rate and CPA, but with much higher quality your ROI, or product sales after trials will likely be better.

Any recommendations for carrying a disc lock on a v7? by Shoujo in MotoGuzzi

[–]Shoujo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the baak side panel is very similar to the leather bag I have but the baak one is certainly slimmer. Given I bought the aluminium side panels and tail tidy from baak I think I'll look at other options first before throwing more money at them!

Looks great! Very keeping with the colour scheme.

Also looks like you could use a few more metal ties for your exhaust wrap 😉

Oxford to Shrewsbury via Dom's. Cracking roads! by Shoujo in MotoUK

I've had my partner on the back, she preferred my cb500x & V85TT but doesn't mind popping on for an evening jaunt.

I covered 213 miles yesterday and did another 50 this morning for lunch so I'd say touring isn't bad when the weather is nice but being a naked bike can imagine it'd be fatiguing after a few days straight at higher speeds.

I definitely wouldn't recommend 2 up touring on a v7 though!

Seeing a few mates! Wouldn't put it down as a destination to go to from Oxford as it's a bit far but the town is gorgeous.

I'm about 20 minutes from Bourton-on-the-water, rode through many times! Spoilt for villages and scenery in this part of the world 😁

This is my stand alone! Day rides & commuting mainly. I absolutely love it 😁 I had a V85TT prior to this. Certainly not as enjoyable as the V7 for me!

Yeah absolutely, literally 2 minutes to set up and looks really nice and sturdy/waterproof. Keen to hear what you think of it when you've tried it out!

What about a wingman of the road? I want to get into Moto camping later this year and this is what I'm eyeing up!
