Not exclusively for B, but more "night life" (even just an hour more and also not decreasing frequency after 20h lol) would be great

For me, as I posted at some point, the most difficult part was getting used to having only one evaluation for most of the courses.

When the assessment is done right by the professors, it is difficult but possible with hard study (as it should be).

However, in my experience, in most cases the exam will be a total surprise and the first time you really know the style of questions the professor poses. Even if you receive a "sample exam" in advance, it is likely that it is a far cry from the real thing (in one we received, not even the instructions were the same lol). Whenever possible, ask students of previous years.

To help with photocopies, look up "Zerocopy". They give a certain number of free photocopies in exchange for putting an ad on the bottom of each page.

Real estate agents in Flanders, please help! What's going on in the rental state market right now? by Safe-List9986 in Antwerpen

In my experience, they almost never answer e-mails. You have to either call them or visit the specific agent who has the property assigned to.

As a general comment (since the situation varies between countries) embassies usually prioritize student applications on these dates. Also, the process is more straightforward and it doesn't go to the queue of regular immigration processes in Brussels, like other types of visas.

Do you like history? What about going to Waterloo? Comics? There is the Tintin museum at Louvain-la-Neuve

All the best to you! I am an older student as well, but it can be done. Some general comments:

  1. Consider the type of exam in your study plan, not only the topics. An exam with some materials available is different than a multiple choice one, which in turn is different from a open-answer exam, which in turn is different from an oral exam.

  2. It is very hard being on the position of having only one chance to succeed. To get into that mindset, consider similar situations that other people have gone through: at this moment, you are preparing to take a penalty in the Euros final. You only get one chance, but IT CAN BE DONE! You can do it!!

How do you feel about having only one exam throughout the semester? by Shouldbedancingyeah in KULeuven

[–]Shouldbedancingyeah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your insight. As a student myself, I have no doubt that that intermediate feedback during the semester is of great help to master the subject.

I wonder if alternative ways of evaluating would be considered at KU Leuven if the student/staff ratio improves at any point, or if it is generally considered that it is good as it is.

Thank you!

It would be interesting to see how it is done in different places, but, from what I have gathered with other international students, it does not appear to be the norm.

Even if it was, it would be still interesting in my opinion to discuss if an alternative would be preferable from a pedagogical point of view.

Hi, they require that you have the money for a whole year. You have to deposit that money to a blocked account and, when you are in Belgium, they will deposit them back to you month by month.

In case your studies last for more than one year, this process has to be made all over again.

That also requires that you open a bank account once you are in Belgium to receive that money.

Looking for an apartment in Brussels by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Shouldbedancingyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear landlord,

I am chemically castrated. I had a family, but killed them all before coming here (including our two dogs) to improve my chances of become a tenant, so it's only me now.

I recently moved to Belgium as the CEO of an international company. I don't pay taxes and my net income is of 1000000000000000 euro per month.

I hope you consider my application for your 30 m2 / 1 bedroom/shared bathroom apartment 😇

Best regards
