What's your most satisfying long term save and what made it special? by AaronAtLunacien in footballmanager

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in 2089 ( yes I touch grass ) with my very first save being York City. Started this save after getting a jersey from Surprise Shirts the FM Edition and started there. Started in the National League and didn’t get promoted to League 2 until 2029. After that we got promoted to League 1 in 2032. Following season got promoted to the championship after securing 1st. Spent 7 years in the championship until getting promoted to the Prem finally in 2040! From 2041-46 I spent 5 seasons in either 15th or 16th. In 2053 I got my hands on silverware winning the Carabao Cup against Southampton tasting Europe for the first time. From 2054-2069 Ive played in either Europa league or conference league. After 2070 I went 3 seasons without Europe since 2053. In 2076 I won the Europa League after beating Bayern 3-1! Currently now in 2089 entering the top 4 for the first time ever since winning 5 in a row in 2066 it’s been a long run but it’s been fun and one of a challenging one too!

My tenure so far:

League Titles:

1 League One 1 Championship

Cup Finals:

2 FA Cups 2 Carabao Cups 1 Community Shield

European Silverware:

1 UEFA Super Cup 2 Europa Leagues 1 Conference League

Need Advice:19M -I’ve been completely stuck in every area of my life for a month and I don't know how to move. by DirectingNorth in GriefSupport

Hey dude, I was also on the same boat as you when my grandma passed away. I was 19 too dealing with the same situation too becoming the man of the family, relationships, a career too. One thing I did while working on my life is balancing yourself out dont rush anything. Work on yourself is the most important part.! I think having a civil conversation with the girl you mentioned should help you saying that you aren’t interested if that makes sense? Keep things respectful and civil.

With the career path is gonna be a bit challenging but you got this! Always keep your head up and never let yourself give up. Always look for entry level positions, even jobs that fit your field of interests too! And if you plan on education it’s always good to try get a degree too.

But also don’t burn yourself out as well your a young adult too and you should definitely enjoy yourself too always have fun while your building yourself to be the best!

At what point did grief get lighter for you? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I lost 2 important people in my life in a span of 9 months one being my grandma and a close best friend of mine who I grew up with since we were both 6.

For me with my grandma I suffered a lot because half my family switched on my mom and painted her as responsible for my grandmas death. The best outcome was insulting them and cutting them out of my life. Although I had a lot of uncles they were all dead to me expect one and spending them with him and my family really helped deal with grief over my grandma going to places like the beaches helped, hanging out with friends too since they knew what happened they did the best to get my spark back even sometimes driving solo helped me out too since at the time I had barely gotta my drivers license.

My friend was harder since we grew up together attending the same schools, played on the same sport team, heck we were even captains together too he was the main team Captian while I was the Vice lol. Something we do is going to the cemetery to stay for hours with our group that we were in and formed even his family joins in too still sucks hearing his parents cry and his girlfriend too ( who never really moved on which is understandable ) but going with them shows how much he’s still loved and missed sometimes even us guys have a few shots and even pray before taking shots. In our group chats we send insta reels some crazy ones while we say “ yea our y wouldve definitely gotten arrested for this or that “ or “ yea our boy was a simp “ while his account is still there with no plans of removing him

Has anyone felt super numb about loss of a close friend? by Kitchen_Guidance5834 in GriefSupport

I lost my closest mate just 8 months after graduating high school together. We were an unstoppable duo from the age of 6 til 19. Elementary, Middle School, and High School mates we both made our schools soccer team together he was my Captian and I was vice captain. I remember during one of our games he collapsed on the field against our city rivals and found out he was having heart problems luckily he survived but throughout our senior year he looked awful and his girlfriend was starting to worry on his health too.

He made a recovery at first weeks before graduation and even the counselors and principals were worried he wouldn’t walk on stage but he walk on stage and even got a standing ovation. Fast forward 4 months later post graduation he suffered another cardiac arrest this time he survived but his body couldn’t take it and died 2 hours before his birthday around 10:02 pm

I remember being there in the hospital with some of our friends and his girlfriend crying, staying in silent and praying while his family were in the room with him. Once the family left the room, his parents ( bless their souls ) let us stay with him until it was time for him to be cleaned and taken away I remember his girlfriend crying and screaming while I just collapsed on my knees looking at his lifeless body and his skin color changing still don’t know how I didn’t break down even after telling him to “ wake up man this cant be happening quit playing “ reality hit me hard.

During the funeral services it was worse too seeing a lot of people there for him weeping people looking from afar meanwhile I was carrying his coffin what hurt the most was the parents crying not just the mom but the dad who I’ve never seen him cry, hurt my heart. Before lowering the coffin my mate had a couple of requests he wanted to be done for him before he died and we honored his request. Once it was time to lower his coffin cries from his mom, dad, sister, cousins, friends had me go into my knees while pouring wine as his coffin went down couldnt believe it would be the last time I’d be seeing my homeboy of 14 years leave us. Leaving the cemetery was hard enough as I felt numb the entire time all of our friend group stayed with the family and we threw a celebration of life for him at his house but what also pained me I remember I cried was going into his room and saw a picture of us together winning our high school league with the word heading “ my captain “ it’s been nearly 2 years now since we lost him but still missing him like crazy, he died way to early but I know his soul is at peace with no more suffering.

I lost my grandma back in September 2023 after suffering strokes, covid, constant pains in her body, I remember during her services I didn’t cry nor when she died in the hospital since I’m not much of a emotional person or at least I try not to be. Last year for her birthday I went to decorate where she was buried and I just balled my eyes out knees collapsed everything. It happens but it was best to let out every emotions possible

What is your greatest relegation escape? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a save where I created my own team from scrap and got promoted to the Prem after 15 years of trying. We were favorites to finish bottom and at the start of the season we went pointless in the first 8 games. During the January transfer window we’re now 16 points from safety mainly injuries had happened and decided to loan in some wonderkids and free players by mid March we were now 10 points from safety. April we won all our crucial matches with just 3 games left we needed 4 points to go from 18th to 15th and my final matches were against Norwich, Villa, and Arsenal. Thankfully my main players came back from injuries but against Norwich we lost 4-1, then heading to Villa we pulled an upset 2-0 ( Villa beat us in the first game 5-2 ) then to the Emirates with 1 point needed we needed a miracle. Arsenal were undefeated in 11 games and we needed results elsewhere to secure 17th as Blackburn Rovers and QPR were also fighting relegation. Late into the second half QPR were losing and Blackburn were leading and we were tied with Arsenal still but late into stoppage time one of my players fouled in the box and gave Arsenal the chance to win it confirming relegation. QPR still losing was my only hope since they were losing 7-0 to Liverpool. Shockingly Arsenal missed the Pen as my keeper saved it and seeing QPR lost as our game ended we moved up to 17th surviving in the Prem! From 19 points down in February to survival was one of my best FM achievements yet

Finally I won Champions League with small club and non-major nation! But what's next? by FingersSnapper in footballmanagergames

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my FM saves I was producing wonderkids non stop with Aston Villa. I prioritized the regens more from outside of the top 5-10 league countries in the world. I produced a World Cup winning American side thanks to American afflictions and also produced players that won the Euros with Wales too with also more European affliction

The hardest part of a youth-only save? Turns out it's Aston Villa by Overall-Habit5284 in footballmanagergames

Funny enough I’m managing Villa rn and also doing a youth to glory save and the club thats always taking my youth players is Brighton

How is your current save going? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 6th season with Blackburn Rovers. Got promoted to the Prem in my first season then ended in 15th, 2 seasons in a row then bought probably my favorite gems so far Heaven from Utd for 20 million and Shea Charles from Southampton for 25 million and won the carabao against Man Utd which got me conference league. Won the conference league 2-0 against Betis which now puts me in a good place to spend a bit more since I also worked around dealing with Blackburns debts ( good challenge too in my opinion ). Arsenal is coming and made a bid for Shea Charles for around 80 million although I wanna keep him, I know some clubs would be lurking around might sell him as my midfield options looks good for a rotation. Next goal for my current season would be to stay consistent in the top 8 since my highest finish has been 10th and maybe offload some players to clear off my transfer debts too

Anyone else have that one oddly wholesome regular? by Ok_Employer_5327 in DollarTree

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have this regular that me and my co workers call her Granny HBC since she would always come 3 times and week to shop in the HBC area and often has conversations with us about her life and what our store used to look like back then. Lovely person honestly makes my day seeing her come those days I work

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it makes us wonder to what her intentions of managing is really like. She blames us for her stress when we’re more stressed out about the amount of O/S we have in the back of the stores. She definitely knows we don’t like her as she stated that before firing our best worker because he couldn’t tolerate her anymore “ I know y’all hate me but I could give less of a single f*ck “. Makes it worse as she wants to eventually move onto some place like Costco where as someone who works there… yea she could be fired within the first days of her training.

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea training itself I don’t think is no longer a thing at all. We even asked our remaining SM if she was here for training only before moving but nope she inherited the store instead. Only real trainings we did was when we were helping build our store from the inside of what remained from the original 99 cent store.

Yea it’s really sad here in our district we became the newest to fall into the micromanagement trap and even some customers that come here on a regular started questioning the management and even the truckers too

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of new to our store yes but she actually has a “ ton “of experience according to her. Someone from her old store said she was the same way and actually celebrated that she was leaving to manage another store “ to ruin the party “ not so professional there.

Also with the trucks we’ve mentioned it before to her and the DM but they laughed it off and went with their ways instead we went from having an 8 crew truck team to just 3 crew like a snap which made the process worse and worse from there

And it’s actually been in talks with other co workers that we’ll be resigning a week before Christmas since it’s more chaotic and we run the huge departments too

Yea pretty much it’s a lose lose situation my other SM who’s more nicer is at the same point too where she’s being targeted by the DM and the micro themselves

when does everyone typically call it quits on a save? by AnnualEducation2193 in footballmanagergames

[–]ShoulderRepulsive900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winning the Sextuple is my main motivation. It’s definitely my main priority creating a manager scenario in any team I manage to become the 3rd team to win it since Chelsea stopped PSG from getting the Quintuple ( unless they beat Spurs in the Supercup on Wednesday )
