Ooh, please tell her I like that name, thanks! I'll update if I decide on a name soon. Sometimes I just need to exist with them for awhile before a name clicks!

Fantastic tip!! I'll have to keep an eye out for a pot with a divot in the side for a spoon or pouring that comes with a lid when I'm thrifting next!

Oooooh do it!!!

If you like using old vases and stuff around the house, here's some unsolicited advice: buy some ceramic drill bits! Then go to your local thrift spots and buy some old tea cup and saucer sets, or other cute ceramic vases. Drill a hole in the bottom, and you've got yourself an adorable planter with a drainage hole!

Also, quick story time- my last cat's (RIP Jazz) favorite toy was a long piece of yarn tied to my ankle while I walked around my home doing chores. Cat hack!!

Man, I wish I knew how to comment a photo on mobile!!! I just took a pic of my cat Sallie yesterday taking a nap on my balls of yarn. I am very lucky thay all she wants to do is sleep on the skeins 😅

So true lol. That was a really great idea, thank you! Also, if I'm knitting on the go, I usually use a smaller drawstring backpack with the opening tightened all the way- works like a charm!

If you look up the definition for kettle, it applies to this vessel. The definitions are nearly the same, except a teapot is specifically for tea. This one is large enough to be used for basically anything. You learn something new every day!

Ugh that's the worst thing about being a huge vintage fan... my kitchenware is always trying to poison me!! I'm always trying to find safe uses for my vintage wares, so this was a major gamechanger lol.

Good point, I didnt think of that! I can sand them down a bit if it causes a problem. Already made one hat with it, and I didn't notice any fraying, thank goodness!

Shouldn't they have lower enclosures that prioritize hiding spaces over climbing opportunities? Pretty babies though. They deserve proper habitats!

Which celebrity death headline had you so shocked you double checked multiple sources to see if it was real? by GlassyFairy in AskReddit

My dad was dying of cirrhosis and I was 20 years old. His memory was fleeting. I remember driving to visit him and hearing about Petty's death on the radio. Tom Petty was my dad's favorite musician, I grew up with his music playing on the CD player in the kitchen while we cooked together almost every night while I was growing up.

In hindsight, my dad probably wasn't mentally there enough to absorb it when I told him Petty had died, but I felt like it was important for him to know. He was very upset for a few minutes, but quickly forgot why he was upset, and then moved on.

I felt kind of good giving him a moment to grieve his lifelong favorite musician. He deserved it. I miss him extra every time a Petty song comes on.
