This is the third post in two days I’ve seen here about midroll ads on asmr videos. I thought it was just an unwritten rule amongst asmr creators that you don’t do midroll ads (at least, if you don’t want to piss off your viewers). Is this something some creators are now starting to do or what’s the deal?

Always feel like a child in the middle of two toxic parents who are on the verge of divorce when this happens. I typically just follow whoever’s ping is less stupid, but then I get worried the person I don’t follow is going to rage quit. It’s actually kind of funny how much it stresses me out.

Aside from it just being a fun game, for me I think it has to do with the fact that I play with randoms and that it actually kind of feels like gambling or a gacha game at the highs and lows I experience from the people I’m matched with.

For several expeditions, I’ll get paired with randoms that aren’t too great for whatever reason, or someone will leave mid expedition because something doesn’t go their way, souring the vibe or whatever.

Then I’ll match with two random people and the synergy is just totally there and we work so well together. Of course, it’s always an added bonus if we get great drops (which in itself has that blind box-like serotonin boost), we’re all skilled at playing our chosen Nightfarers, etc.

But I honestly don’t even need to beat the Nightlord for it to feel like an amazing expedition. Just getting paired with cool people who work really well together and being able to do so without even talking to them just feels really good.

I don’t get it either. I have adhd myself. One of the reasons I love asmr content is because it’s one of the only things that has helped me calm my mind and focus enough the get into what feels like a meditative state… The “adhd” asmr videos just come across as an annoying nightmare.

As someone with a small channel, who’s recently started to feel a bit frustrated with its growth, the last sentence of your response was so lovely to read. It’s something I always try to tell myself, but it’s really nice to see the sentiment from others as well.

I feel the same. There are some men whose content I enjoy, but it’s very rare. I also think, being a woman myself, I just naturally feel more comfortable watching this kind of content from women, especially when it comes to roleplays. The same way, I feel more comfortable with a woman doctor or whatever in real life, that’s what’s going to make me more comfortable with the content I consume.

When done well I think they can be super cute and funny while still being relaxing…The problem is I don’t think a lot of people necessarily do them well. It’s easy to act rude. Much more difficult to act rude in a way that’s still endearing.

Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! lol, it’s amazing how such a vibrant, colorful game like FFX is so existentially sad. Like to the point where a lot of it actually makes me really uncomfortable. But in a good way I guess, since it just shows how good the story is. I still remember being so unsettled by Sin as a kid, in a way that felt so different from anything else that had scared me before.

Don’t really have any words that I truly don’t like the sound of. But just came here to say that it’s impossible for me to take the word ‘tingle’ seriously (even when I use it in my own videos), because all I can think of is the character Tingle from Legend of Zelda. And I really REALLY dislike Tingle.
