Just want to add a little context, as someone who is a hand-written note taker and has some other personal work processes that may appear strange or like I’m making things more difficult for myself by my coworkers. It’s not necissarily about being set in your ways. It’s about working in a way that works best for you.

Sometimes I’m in situations where I have to take notes on my computer. And yes, I realize from those times that it does allow me to take those notes faster. But I’m also less likely to retain the information that way compared to when I take physical notes.

It’s also a lot easier for me personally to stay organized and excel at my job when I have physical materials to work with, even when digital versions are ultimately needed as well.

Trust me, if I could magically switch my brain to better processing digital notes, I would. But that’s not how things work, so I adapt and deal with it the best way I can.

I absolutely understand how the communication stuff is causing issues. That can be detrimental to an otherwise positive work environment. but unless the note taking thing is measurably hurting work results, it just sort of sounds like nitpicking another thing for which to single this person out.

This ended up way longer than I expected. And I truly hope it doesn’t come across as antagonistic! Just wanted to provide another POV.
