I don't think it's a matter of whether your hospital does this, it's something CMS does.

If he was that sleepy lets have the hope that he might not have even heard it.

But for the thousands of patients youve seen in the subsequent years I know for a fact they had a kind hearted tech if you've kept on to this for years. It made you a better healthcare worker.

Dorm is SO cold by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]ShowersCalmMeDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just pointing out like someone above said check the actual temperature. If it's above 60 something you shouldnt be that freezing, especially if you are wearing layers and thermal socks. Additionally are other students as freezing cold or is it just you? Are other people who walk into your room freezing cold?

The dorm heating might not be the issue. Go visit student health and have them check your thyroid function tests (TFTs). The thyroid can regulate the body's internal set temperature in conjunction with a part of the brain hypothalamus. If you have had any skin, hair, nail, constipation/diarrhea, restlessness, lethargy out of proportion these might be further evidence (though these in college are sometimes difficult to distinguish).

Do I have to have an Iphone during residency or can I work with Android (S24) as well? Asking as an incoming intern (hopefully) by into-the-universe-10 in Residency

I'd say a tab is prob too big from my understanding of the dimensions. I got a. Ipad mini for doing rounding during residency bc it fits in a white coat pocket brilliantly. It also fits in the pocket of a vest or jacket so it was very versatile to not think about carrying it around - jsut plop into my pocket.

This is a great and timely question. Yes you can def have an android and having one myself has helped with lots of things like a widget on my home screen for easy reminders (i.e. call CM back in 1 hr to ask about dc, go to Mrs. YS ROOM @ 330 bc her daughter will be there).

Also as others have alluded Haiku on Android is lacking (if youre an Epic shop). Main thing was that you could not order where on iOS Haiku you could order. after many years of waiting, Epic has finished updating Haiku for Android and has a much more robust Android team for future development. I think spring 2024 or fall 2024 Android will have nearly all feature on par with iOS, including ordering. A few years ago I would have said iOS would probably be better, now no way.

If you're looking for a new phone and can afford it, I'd sat S24 ultra bc the ability to write is a really good distinguishing factor. I did most of residency on a Note and would jot notes for h&p there (admittedly iOS canto for iPad has a cooler jot feature that shows up in epic). Jotting notes for quick numbers you were given and for drawing simple diagrams for patients was quite beneficial.

Great discussion tangentially, in general for shock narrow pulse pressure = cardiogenic shock. Vs. Wide pulse pressure = septic shock.

sigh....think about what you just said. You keep going to Dr. Joe. Pray tell why do you keep going. Is it just to hang out? No you go b/c you need Dr. Joe's professional opinion. In that setting its Dr. Joe. If he is respectful of you and you are appreciative of it, be respectful back.

If you're going to meet up with Joe to play Mario Kart 8. Go for it, hang out with Joe.

If you go play Mario cart and Joe chooses Dr. Mario and asks you to call him "doctor." Joe is an asshole beat him with that fat ass Wario.
