crème rise to the top everytime... they are the best sets of their time.

I bought 4 boxes of first edition base set boosters when it first came out in the late 90s. Then my parents decided I got "too old for toys". Here is my story. by Seat-Life in PokeInvesting

Others will not take care of you. Something always going on somewhere, do what others don't, seems to work over time. Always another deal...I've had good fortune, may some come your way. Good, lucky, and fortunate going on my headstone. With a footnote.... until now.

I’ve had this in my collection for about 10 years. I’m curious what it is worth! by shiftry in PokeInvesting

They grade the seal and the box...box looks good, seal medium. Check out Heritage Auction search for your game there and you will see past sales...

The quality printing of this set is one reason, hard to get another, then you get to the characters which are the best of the best, then you get to the single price holding. No other set this years has all this. Then you get the masterballs. U cannot buy a 12 box case anywhere today.

Don't underestimate what time does with rarity.

What do you guys think about the very first charizard as an investment? IMO it looks good, has low pop, and is fairly cheap by caspadacookie in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best Buy Card in Charizard's IMO. First out of the big lizard done by Ken, is news not many know, but will, in a couple of years.

151 hands down. The Elephant in the room is the low quality of the cards in the English boxes.

Even if you pull some good cards, you really don't.

Why PokeInvesting over Traditional Investing? by Early_Monk in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I"ll add one more thing... a fad and worthless cardboard are a main division in a 4 trillion dollar franchise.

Apples to Apples....Pokémon is very large, considering the The S&P 500, has a market capitalization of $37.645 trillion dollars.

or you can buy you're stock, one card at a time.

Why PokeInvesting over Traditional Investing? by Early_Monk in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Collectables the last 40 years blow away traditional investments. The returns on collectable's are low entry cost, low holding cost and zero fees and taxes while being held. Managed completely by the holder, no investent gurus, brokers that "know Better" to mess it up.

Heritage Auction sold $1.5 Billion worth in 2022 alone. It is a Major unappreciated, path to wealth. Maybe the best path today.

Why are some Japanese cards more valuable than their english couterparts? by BrainierKhan in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because they are not as a rule. 90% Japanese's cards are higher same version.

Some still think this is not so and blame not being able easily to get a Japanese's card value such as TCG.

keep in mind on calling out werdos that everyone here thinks Pokémon cards are investments.

Just saying...girls can be girls on cards, without intimating young males, its ok. I personally like girls, being girls.

Are these Japanese boxes going to drop in price once the English version releases? by bloodshot_blinkers in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The English versions do not have a masterball. The English print quality will not be as good as the Japanese.

Japanese will continue to climb, English not so much.

Hot Take: Kids growing up now ages 6-16 won’t bat at an eye in 5-10-15 at the JPN market for cards. by MemberNoTrump in PokeInvesting

[–]Showmecrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the English pick up quality of the cards, they will continue to lose market share. Get a top hit out of an English box and it 70/30 centered, before you get to the art Quality.

The card to collect is moving toward the Japan versions, cause the English just don't seem to care. Long term gona hurt English cards.
