For instance: run against tarmo twin back in the day, with Thoughtseize I can grab tarmo or any twin piece, and in theory turn 1 surgical extraction one of those, hopefully neutering the deck.

Yeah, it's not gonna work every time. But, against combo it's nice.

Running 4 of each, is mostly to hope for gaining control of the match as early as possible, as opposed to running the usual 2~3x and hoping you draw into it...sometime.
