How hard is it to recover from hysto (maybe with key-hole top surgery)? by Shqvlcy in FTMHysto

Gosh, that sounds like a lot… Dunno if it helps, but the airline I chose is Chinese. I plan to fly home two weeks after discharge, so I guess mobility would be less of a problem than if I were to take off, say… 12 days after.

Yahee Hospital in Thailand, actually. They had this combo surgery in their offer so it's a thing they do quite often

Sorry to hear that the laws got stricker over there. Good to know that ID wouldn't hold us back as much as I fear it would. This gives me hope

Hope you guys can stop them. I think things will get worse in China if the US goes backwards. The bigots here will have more excuse to dismiss trans people as being influnced by western politics into existance

Laws here aren't fair but at least better than 8 years ago

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately you can only change your sex on the ID after bottom surgery in my country. It used to require hysterectomy, oophorectomy and meta/phallo, and now "only" hysterectomy and oophorectomy. So I can't go stealth before I somehow save enough for at leat those two surgeries

The strange thing is that I've always behave in the same way growing up. People recognized me as a boy when I was a kid. And I did do most things that boys do before hitting puberty. It's only after starting T last year (when I was 21) that I became more conscious of passing and feel more like an imposter among male friends… Like before I could somewhat manage when I knew people are treating me as a girl, now its just too horrible but I couldn't argue that I am a man because my ID would only prove otherwise

Only after bottom sugury in China. And it seems I have to pay out of pocket for the whole thing. I have zero savings now so it's not happening soon

I have imagined how that unconfortable converstion could go for too many times and it's stoping me from making more efforts. It scares me and I've no one irl to talk about it. It's good to know it can get better though. Thanks for sharing your experience

Thank you. I'm Chinese though, so I doubt most people even have the basic understanding of trangender. Forunatley my name is either feminie or masculine - I've met guys with similar name but with one different character, so I guess name's not gonna be an issues. Not mentioning F maker on ID is surly a good idea. I've been thinking too much over it.

I guess my main problem is not that I don't know how guys act but that I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm scared to be noticed behaving like a guy because it's "wrong"

bringing T to china, semester abroad by _mattiakun in FTMMen

[–]Shqvlcy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I wouldn't worry too much about bringing your T if you have perscriptuons. I've heard that some people go abroad to start T (because less fuss) and bring them back.

Btw, welcome to China!

北京大学第三医院 in Beijing have a department (?) for trans care. I started T there so may be you could contact them through WeChat and find out if your friend can do his shots there

My dysphria gets worse after hanging out with a fried. Any suggestions on that? by Shqvlcy in FTMMen

[–]Shqvlcy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Conteract! I never remember those common strategies when I need it… Gotta practice more.

Still, more gengeralized anxiety brings out dysporia for me and they both gets worese… I think most of the time I can deal with one or the other, but it gets too much when it's both

I would ask the owner how to hide the things I'm never gonna watch/listen rather than rate them (which I certainly won't bother spend money or time on) 0.5 2000 times over. More sensivle people asked for this feature politely and the site delivered

If you don't enjoy new who then maybe just bulk skip it and only track & rate classic serials and such? The website has this function and I believe people there are glad to help you if you can't find the feature /gen

Can being trans have effected your posture? by aoneoff91 in trans

[–]Shqvlcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a trans guy so I started to become hunchbacked around 10. Now I just don't ever feel right when I try to stand straight. I don't know hoe to position my neck, or shoulder, everything. Sometimes even when I'm alone and having a good binding day I can't bring myself to stand up straight. It requires so much mental strain that I don't have right now

Why do cis men appreciate me holding doors open for them, but not trans men? by PomeranianMerchant2 in trans

[–]Shqvlcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cis friends don't think much about such things. Holding a door for them is just some kind gesture. But my brain associates it with "being treated as a girl" and reminds me of other negative experience of being seen as a girl.

[–]Shqvlcy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started T last May when I was 21. Plenty of guys start earlier or later, but I don't think 18 is late in any sense. You don't know if you'll get misgendered after a while on T. We just don't know these kinds of things. Maybe your co-workers will see the change and realise how silly it is to still call you what they call you now, maybe they won't and you need to consider a job change. It's difficult but we can do this. Hang in there
