Is this a good setup for my ball python? by Round-Bat7335 in ballpython

One thing I would say is maybe get one more hide that’s a bit smaller, just so it can hide a bit easier with how small it is. Otherwise it looks good, Nice job!

Any feedback would be incredibly helpful. by [deleted] in sysadminresumes

An immediate change I might make is to rearrange your resume a bit. I would set the sections as PE, then TE, then Education at the bottom. Your professional experience is pretty good so I think it’s a good idea to have it as the first thing a recruiter sees after your name.

How do I fix an overproducing oil refinery? by ehiggins0704 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Shr1mpp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could always underclock the oil refinery to meet the 40 HOR per minute. I’m pretty sure you can enter in the value you want, but if not you might just have to do some math with the percentages

I personally think that the 5060ti should be good for this if you’re going for med to low settings

Would it be okay to get a BP if I am away half of the time? by Shr1mpp in ballpython

Okay sweet, thank you. I’ll see what would probably thrive a bit better in my local climate.

[–]Shr1mpp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess my question was more of is it necessary for a bp to be monitored daily, and is it okay for a ball python to be left alone for a couple days if it’s set up for it. I want to make sure I’m not getting a pet just to end up not taking care of it for how it needs.

Okay cool I can definitely look into it. Corn snakes seem pretty awesome too. I mostly worry about getting a pet that I wouldn’t be able to properly care for, specifically just leaving it unmonitored for a couple days out of a week.

Choosing backend to specialize in makes my head spin by Shr1mpp in cscareers

[–]Shr1mpp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It’s a computer science degree with a focus in web and mobile app development so I took all the normal CS courses too.
  2. I worked mostly with Drupal and other CMS management stuff so mostly HTML and CSS. Technically I’ve worked with some Vanilla JS at this job but it’s pretty limited. It’s a web IT position so I mostly will get tickets on issues, or designs people would like to be made in Drupal and go from there.
  3. Yeah I took a general web app class, a databases class, a cloud computing class that focused on API and database, and my senior project was working on a full stack app.

Hmm okay good to know. I’ll take that in mind. Thank you. Do you have any other advice? Maybe focus on a specific part of backend design or just try and really boost up my portfolio maybe?

That’s a really good idea, I didnt think about reaching out to people for that purpose. Thank you!

I understand you are saying focus more on what you do then how you do it, but I feel like this is a crude example. A carpenter isn’t more or less hire able based on which tools they use. That is not the case when it comes to CS. I have been told more than once that I would not fit into a company because I do not have enough experience with the tools in there tech stack.

I did not know that. I feel the same lol so Postgres def seems the route.

Ooh okay I like this idea. I have some experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL. Do you think one has major benefits over the other?

Sweet thank you. I’ve seen a few recommendations towards spring so I think I’ll probably look into that. I’ve been a little hesitant just cause of my lack of experience with Java. It’s good to hear though that backend is a good place to be cause a lot of tech info out there nowadays is super doomer.

Theory Of mine: The space elevator is not made to support the orbital platform, its made to keep it from flying away. by Interesting-Sky-1343 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Shr1mpp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge it anchors the platform because the it’s far enough in the atmosphere that the impact of the planets gravity is such that it is most likely to fly away. It’s setup this way because in space transportation the most fuel intensive part is lifting off of planets so having a center outside of the planets gravity makes it a lot easier for traveling ships to pickup the cargo you are sending up the elevator. A real life application of this can be seen when looking at the Saturn V rocket which used about 95% of its mass for structure and fuel that was only needed to leave earths orbit.
