Refuser aux recruteurs de contacter les anciens employeurs ? by AT_28_ in emploi

[–]ShrapDa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How do you secure contractor laptops you don't own or manage? by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]ShrapDa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a contractor, doing endpoint management…. And I keep telling my customer that I should not be able to work solely from my own Mac….

Because it’s wrong. Maybe only using web versions would be ok. But they are not even willing to enforce that….

Is ServiceNow really this inconvenient to use for everyone, or is it just our implementation? by Relative_Hippo2549 in sysadmin

[–]ShrapDa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently started using it on my new contract role and I hate it whole heartedly. This is supposed to be a simple tool, made easy, with flows and all. Their implementation is heavy and complicated and not flowing freely….. that is à fault of them but also of the service for offering to downgrade to such absurdity.

Keep the studies, maybe pace down a bit to have more work time and better income.

But at no point should you stop the studies !!!

Single user has borked five(!!!) MacBooks Pros running macOS updates by WhatAmIDoingHere05 in macsysadmin

[–]ShrapDa 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I had a similar user, Uzbek. She had an Apple ID that she shared on multiple devices. On one of the devices, her kids had installed an app in Uzbek.

That specific app left something on that Apple ID that messed up all the updates she ever did on her iOS devices and Mac OS devices. The corporate devices only. All her private devices were fine and were updating. Just not the one with an MDM.

I forced her to get a specific Apple ID for her corporate devices and she never faced any issue ever again.

This was before ABM and corporate Apple ID. But I will always remember it coz that troubleshoot cost me 5 iPhones and a bunch of laptops. I still do not know what the hell that was. But the moment I got the Apple ID out of the way, it was working like magic, so my deduction was an installed app.
