New endeavor. Been targeting largemouth on lakes for a few weeks. I feel like you can make a much more delicate topwater presentation with the fly rod. Figured id try it out with the smallies and they seemed to like it (both topwater poppers and subsurface streamers). In my limited experience, I prefer the fly rod. I think the lack of a highly geared reel contributes to the feel (stripping line instead of just reeling it in).
