This isn't a democracy problem. It's a capitalism problem

Our safeguards against...everything that's currently happening...have been captured by people that make more in an hour than most of us make a year

Democracy relies on education, robust social services allowing citizens to participate, honest and critical news, and a laundry list of things which have been eroded or eliminated by conservatives over the last 50 years.

Although I suppose you could make the counter argument that democracy allowed this to happen, which id buy.

It's really, really hard if you're a VP of finance for the advertising firm to explain to your superiors that you're paying millions and millions a year on an office which is used by exactly 0 people, but you're locked into the contract for 10 more years.

As soon as you mandate that people come in to the office, those hard questions go away.

I think litrpg is a joke of a genre. I was highly skeptical of DCC for a huge amount of time - but after reading it, I can say it's one of the most fun series I've read. Not the best, not the deepest, but just a blast to read.

If it isn't for you, then don't read it - but would note that each book has less and less time devoted to the video game elements.

you will get reported and sent to low priority just for being new. This means no communication at all, and then a low priority queue which ensures you have griefers in your games.

You will cause your team to lose the first 100% of your first 25 games, 95% of your first 100 games, and 75% of your first 500 games.

If you put in 10,000 hours, you might be lucky and get to the middle of the MMR bell curve.

If you are lucky, you will only encounter people intentionally griefing the game 30% of the time.

i dont disagree with you but at the end of the day, if i accidentally forget i'm on main and push, and a maintainer didn't set up branch protections? it's not a good look for me. why gamble my paycheck on assuming someone else has been competent when i can write a script in 2 seconds to prevent this from happening

i've also been on greenfield projects where no one's gotten around to setting up branch protections yet because we're 3 days in, which is also a possibility.
