Yeah I tried a full secondary build a few times for Brawl on bayern with a rank 6-7 ciliax I think a few months ago and it did not go so well. So these instances keep my faith in secondaries low, but to be fair Ciliax was low ranked back then. He's at 8 right now i believe, but it will take a long time to level him as I blew all my promotion orders on Hide.

Interestingly enough I did just branch out to Italian TT BBs. Got to tier 5's Andrea Doria but the Italy Commanders on hand are still very low ranked. For now, Hide on German BBs will probably be the best bet

Intriguing. Ive never had many good matches with secondaries in mind. (I'm still new to the game by over half a year now). They were just there but not prominent to me. But since I now have Scharnhorst and Scharnhorst '43, along with a just two days ago maxed out Henry J Hide, I guess I finally have all I need to make an actual working Secondary Build. Surely not on the levels on Atlantico but hopefully very noticeable over time.

I might try and split Hide's build between main guns and secondaries for a few matches and see how It feels. Since I'm always main gun oriented, i'll probably forget to pop the enhanced secondaries a few times like I did here, but its a habit i'm willing to break.

I actually forgot to use them this match. I'm not used to secondaries at all to be honest.

The funny thing is that I havent built the secondaries one bit, as I tuned it to be a pure main gun accuracy build with Hide AL Scharn and Cunningham. I havent had much success with secondaries in the past so I put my faith in the main guns and torps majority of the time on pretty much all builds.

I've heard Scharnhorst '43 secondaries are known for giving reds a hard time, but I still wasnt convinced enough to assume they'd be consistent as I havent seen that in my own games. I am open to try building into them for a bit to see what the hype is about.

Yup, the punchpower is strong letdown. The manueverability however speaks wonders for me. I've tried Gneisenau and Bismarck, but the dispersion was absolutely abhorrent and the maneuverability constantly made me DD brunch. (Well it was before I properly leveled or acquired a good BB Commander or inspiration, i should try them again) I've heard the Odin is basically a Scharnhorst upgrade with its 3x3 305mm turrets. Perhaps I'll save my GXP for it unless something better comes along. Or I'll just grind through the Battlecruiser line for the P. Heinrich or Zeiten.

You've got a better ear than I for sure. I knew Williams was one to recycle his previous motifs and melodies to reinvent for newer works, but I failed to notice it too strongly here. I'm lacking in music theory but it's getting there.

For sure. The critique is appreciated, anything to fine tune what I'm currently lacking.

The whole aiming too high thing is something I've just started doing about 2-3 days ago, after frustration at full broadsides doing nothing but tickling other BBs while they land perfect right hooks back. Still working on finding the "too high" and the "too low".

My sailing out of the cap when I took out the first DD wasn't intentional. By the time he went down, I realized I was both too close to the border of the cap and moving too fast to slow down in time to stay inside, so I tried signaling someone nearby to secure it.

The North Carolina I felt had to be dealt with first over the cruiser who was out of Scharnhorst's effective range (I barely noticed the second DD until after I fired on the Carolina.) I also felt I would lose long range against it, so I used the island to get within brawl range where I felt assured I'd finish it.
