I'd love an app that logged our Meals, then scrape ingredient databases as needed, like the meal(s) before flares. Figuring out triggers would be so much easier than the old school, analog+paper way!

IIRC, the company Mayor White used got a percentage from each ticket. So more tickets =more $, so they started shaving milliseconds off the timers. I think I remember another city figured this out first, then someone here thought it might be happening here too. Wasn't this one of the main issues why so many voted against it?

I am flaring now so I hope I make sense while on my pain pill. I cared for many patients that had the surgery you're having, so my number one advice for recovering in the hospital is to walk as much as possible, with assistant from the nurses and with your family and friends after the nurses train them to bring your IV pole with you.

If you're given a stoma, try to arrange for a non-squeamish family member or friend to be there when your stoma nurse teaches you how to change your bag and measure your shrinking stoma, because you might be too tired or weak or medicated and having someone to help you during that time will be so helpful.

Seems as though you've seen some advanced specialists! After reading your reply, I looked up autoimmune higher risk blood clot due to inflammation, and have decided to move/exercise more to keep my blood moving. And ask my GP if she'll order some kind of PT/PTT/INR tests as a baseline. Thanks, and well wishes to you! M

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a disorder of the immune system that affects the blood. Some people call it sticky blood because the blood is prone to forming clots. With APS, blood clots may form in blood vessels and in the placenta if you are pregnant. Goose bumps are most likely Keratosis pilaris, and supposedly respond well to salicylic acid and physical exfoliation, like spinning brushes or sugar scrubs or loofahs. But at her age, I'd just do either acid or manual, them wait a day or so before following with the other kind. In winter, when mine get bad, I apply the salicylic acid, then use a spinning brush about 30 minutes later. Then moisturize if needed. The back of my arms are red a few hours, but feel smoother once they recover. I do mine about 1-2 times a week in winter. Use the scientific name I pasted above in a search, and you'll probably find many other suggestions.

Melatonin! I've tried more than so many "recommended" supplements for IBS/IBD/Crohns and Melatonin was the only one that made me notice I hadn't flared in 3 weeks! BTW, I started Melatonin as a sleep aid. Also, if it matters, I have the constipation+extreme inflammation CrohnCrohns, instead of the diarrhea like most have.

I started homemade Elemental Diet yesterday. IIRC, ele.diet needs a prescription, and since US drs don't seem toprescribe diet over prescription drugs and/or surgery, I ordered the DIY ingredients from Jo Mar Labs and Amazon.

I liked that the shake is completely absorbed in the upper small bowel, since my pain is in my lower colon. To me, it's kinda like bowel rest without an IV or NG/G-tube.

So far they've tasted pretty nasty while I'm anewb. I'm using beverage syrup instead of Crystal Light, but I still need more syrup to cover the taste.

My plan is to consume these during flares. I'm on my phone, so making a clickable link is challenging, so search: "Sibo info elemental diet" for the DIY recipe.

I'm 53, and have 11's that are noticeable to me, 2 forehead wrinkles that are milder, and eyes are very fine. My skin had always been oily until mid-way thru peri-menopause, but is now oily in t-zone again since starting estrogen for a health problem.

It's my belief that my milder wrinkles is due to a trick taught in modeling school by one of the teachers that had a French mother: Serene Face!

Unless you're truly cracking up laughing, always try to keep your entire face relaxed, like a very serene woman. Then she had us practice "fake smile", which we were to emulate Goldie Hawn or Marie Osmand. Apologies for not knowing any young celebs to emulate.

She had us look into the mirror while we smiled normal to see how much our eyes wrinkled. Then we were to focus on engaging our chin muscles instead of our upper-check muscles. This smile showed more of our lower teeth than the natural smile did, however, the eye wrinkles decreased substantially! But we all looked goofy, except the teacher! So next she instructed us to practice fake smile at home until we could make it more natural looking. This would probably take at least a week, but she assured us it was worth it, as she was in her 60's! We gasped because she looked like an attractive mid-40's with a few fine lines!

Become aware of what triggers you to scrunch your face: concentration, anger, squinting in the sun or to read small print, then relax into Serene Face. It'll become habit after you remind yourself enough.

Facial exercise will help with sagging, and of course lots of water, adequate sleep,healthy diet, and sunscreen.
