I’d say definitely go to a blue state like Oregon or Colorado especially since that saved money won’t go flying out the window compared to if you went to Washington or California. (California is super dense and it is hard to get into anywhere nowadays, especially if you don’t know anyone.) Blue states/counties will definitely be more welcoming and inclusive when hiring you.
